Question Flake soil help

Hey all,

I'm researching flake soil right now and I'm getting mixed results. Is there any difference between using any of the varying ingredients? Also is there anything I should add that is specific for millipedes for during the fermentation process or do I add to the substrate after it's finished? All the recipe's I'm finding are catered for beetles and isopods- though most do say they work just fine for pedes. If anyone has feedback or their own recipe their willing to share, please do, and thanks :)

Here's the recipe I plan on using:

  • All natural oak pellets (no additives or flavorings)
  • flour or blended oats
  • sugar (white or brown)
  • dechlorinated water (tap water that is boiled)
  • brewer's yeast or active dry yeast

For ratios I plan on winging it because I need a lot of soil for my terrarium.

there is variation but idk it.

you have to add a percentage rot wood/ old flakesoil / millipede/ beetle substrate to ur mix to kickstart it i think

from what I've seen adding pre-existing soil just hastens the fermentation process, it isn't vital.
