Discusson New grad seeking advice
I graduated with my BS in MLS this past month, and past my ASCP exam (yay!). I've applied to a decent amount of positions, and recently got my first (and only) offer. It's in the city I want to move to, with the company I wanted to work for. However, I haven't heard anything back from the big, level one trauma center in the city that I was hoping to work at. I got an offer for their satellite location, a free-standing ED. I don't have any experience in the lab of a FSED since my clinical rotations were in pretty mid-sized hospitals.
Does anyone have any details they can give me about their experience working in a FSED? Is it typical for them to hire new grads?

I would say its better to go into a level 1 truama to get the experience and then after a couple years that you've had enough and you want something light with minimal truamas you tend to move away from those major hospital and lay low at free standings. Typically theyll pay the same as working at a level 1 truama. Maybe level 1 earn slightly more but not big if a difference. I would say maybe see if you can pick OT at other hospital locations within the hospital system so say at the level 1 so you can gain more experience. Typically theirs a day when theyll need coverage and you'll be abke to swoop in and fill it
