The could have made an episode just based on guessing whether a Children of the Corn title is real or made up

There’s a funny bit in Joe Hill’s King Sorrow where he references the events of The Dead Zone being real in the universe of the book. I’ll grab the quote:

“Do you think the baby had PTSD too?” Van wondered. “The one Stillson was using as a human shield when John Smith drew down on him?”

“Ignore him,” Donna said. “That’s a lot of Van’s leftie bullshit. Stillson was trying to throw the baby to safety. Rush Limbaugh had a pretty good breakdown of what really happened.”

Arthur didn’t have any comment. His mother had been arrested protesting outside a Stillson rally and was of the opinion that Greg Stillson pretty much ate babies.

I liked that nod to his dad when I got to that part. I feel like there were a few other King references too?

I think so? I’m not so well-versed in Stephen King lore that I necessarily would have caught anything less obvious than “hey remember that murder clown in Derry a few years back?”

Reverse chronological Children of the Core is my favorite Guided by Voices EP.

Honestly, I feel like Gerald’s Game didn’t get enough credit. It’s a movie I don’t want to rewatch, but it was super intense and so many moments have stuck with me. Even more than the degloving, the creep at the end is really haunting haha.

For whatever reason I completely missed The Monkey (2025) when it came out. It’s fun! It’s like a movie version of a Halloween haunted house, where it’s all set pieces of fun gore effects and the plot doesn’t really matter much.
