This app sends different parts of the image to different eyes, at the right offset (it's calculated automatically), allowing you to see the stereo effect! (so impossible to use without a VR headset 😓)
https://optozorax.github.io/stereo_viewer/ - it's just a web page, no downloads.
I suggest going very close to the wall to see stereo effect without flickering edges (or without flickering legs on the picture 5), and then slowly go back.
Turns out my whole life I focused on these images wrong! I always crossed my eyes, focusing on a point between me and the monitor, but this creates an inverted stereo effect, which isn't what these images are designed for. They are designed to focus on a point farther away than your monitor. I'd never have figured this out without that app! Now I can catch the right focus if I try hard enough.
I hope that when Steam Frame is out, I will be able to create an app that tracks your eyes and teaches you how to position them correctly for such an image for making muscle memory.

TO VIEW: Relax your eyes & stare through the image (as if looking beyond it), until you see it appear in 3D. Tip: When you see 1 extra of an object appear in a row (such as the planet Neptune), you're focusing at the correct depth.

Bored as hell in a waiting room but they had this 2018 magic eye book. Some pretty striking effects in this one but I found this series of dogs to be the funniest images.
