Favorite draft prospects

Now that we’re just about a month away from the draft curious to see who are some of your favorite prospects you’d like to see in a Kings sweater

Some of mine

Forwards:

Tynan Lawrence
Maddox Dagenais (hits everything that moves, great shot and good size
Wyatt Cullen (super high offensive upside but a few more question marks)
Markus Ruck (Great hockey sense and motor. awesome playmaker, would love to see at center but tbd)

Defenseman:

Ryan Lin (Jordan Spence copium)
Xavier villenueve (lane Hudson lite?)
Tommy Bleyl
Maksim Sokolovskii (huge 6’9 defenseman who is crazy physical and a pretty fluid skater for his size

Goaltenders:

We don’t need one lmao

Mock draft:

Rd1: Maddox Dagenais

Rd 2: Xavier villenueve (trade 4th to move up)

Rd 2: maksim sokolovskii

Here we add a mix of size and puck moving talent to our left side on the blue line and what would be our highest rated center prospect (hopefully a future 2C or better)

If only we could have drafted a guy like that

My favorite? DuPont next season:)

At 17, In my eyes it’s Ilya Morozov… one of the youngest players in college who played major minutes and earned his coaches trust! Seems like a prime candidate to explode his sophomore season and again, in my eyes he a 2C in the making.. size, 2 way play, leadership

I like him as well, seems like a kings pick. Models him game after Leon and barky

Yeah, really curious to see if his offense develops this season. He did well but needs to take the next step. Even if it doesn't, he could still be an effective NHL player in the Danault mold.

with our development that’s a 4th line grinder who doesn’t play until 25

I’m manifesting we draft at least 2 of Oscar Hemming, Adam Novotny, Elton Hermansson, Tommy Bleyl, or Yegor Shilov. More raw talent kinda guys than “guys who play the right way”. Also, I really don’t want to draft a center this draft bc this draft is better for flashy wingers and dmen, while next draft is full of potential good centers. Like 1/2 of the projected first round next year is centers so we’ll probably have a better chance at getting a good center next year than this year where the centers are kind of underwhelming.

If a center is BPA I’m going Center. Besides we need at least 2 more good center prospect’s in our system

I get that. I just don’t think the good centers will fall to 17 and the centers that may be available won’t be better than the wingers and may even be a bit underwhelming in comparison. Honestly I just hope whoever they take can play for us in a year or so just so we can add some skill and speed to the lineup from our own pool yk.

The kings making the playoffs really hurt. They probably would be picking around 8th otherwise. Heck, the front office might have been let go.

We just have to keep in my mind (in order to not have too high of expectations for whoever we end up drafting), that besides maybe the top 3 guys, almost everyone taken in the 1st this year will basically be a crap shoot. There will most likely be more busts and/or guys falling under the radar more than usual, since teams and scouts are struggling to figure out how to evaluate guys with the new NCAA-CHL rules.

Having said that, knowing the Kings, even if he looks good he probably won't get called up or will get traded eventually.
