Help / Question Weird salary tax policy

I applied today to Simple butter (swiss butter’s copy cat), bi dall 3eje2 meshe halo aando kaza fere3 okay.
Branch khalde fiya chi 22 tables w chi 4-5 waiters, they said that the salary is 500$ and there is a “tax” which is 3% of the tables that i cover, and i take all the tips from my tables i don’t share it in a box or anything(it’s a good thing), bas chou wade3 hal 3%?

My friend and I tried to put some assumptions to know the final probable salary, we said enno eza stalamet 15-17 tables/orders per day and the average check is 55$(ghalwajiyye l jame3a, i checked the menu) x 6 days x 4 weeks btetla3 594$-673$ monthly in taxes.

Bas regarding tips, eza elna 4$ tips per table, btetla3 1440$-1632$ monthly

Fa l average income bt sir mniha mniha bas my numbers and calculations don’t make sene at all. Anyone knows anything about it aw has anything to correct me on? I’d appreciate any tips and advices.

+ l zalame ktir strict bl dawem nza3aj bas 3eref eno aande temrinet swe2a hal jem3a w chaba2ne wahdet “ma bade baaden t2elle aande fahes temrin kaza..”

this is normal since like 15 years ago. some restaurants have 3% tax on table others have a flat rate of 3$.

Eh alot of restaurants use this tip method, its either a table tax or a collective tip box. The table tax usually earns you more tho so its good

Hl2 fiye akedlak eno ltips will be a net positive like almost 100% of the time so ni need to worry 3a osset eza 3m te5sar.

Mainly because sometimes ull hit ljackpot with the big tippers and l2n most people usually round up to the nearest 5 or 10( for example eza lfatoura 17 bi7oto 20 w bytrko 3 dollar tip, thats a net positive).

Hl2 the numbers will vary,i worked 4 summers in restaurants as a wauter and some days i served 2 tables, the other days i served 30. Bas the restaurant i worked at had a common box tip system, which honestly sucked. Id leave the week with around 20$ tips total due to the sheer amount of waiters working.

The tax system is for the most part the most benefitting one for you,id say eza lsalary 500 u should be hitting around maybe 700 - 900 a month m3 ltips

I don’t work in the F&B industry but I’m pretty sure your numbers are off, ma bhes feya 15-17 tables per day

Your base salary is barely enough to cover the 3% and you’ll mainly be relying on tips (though I’m pretty sure that’s how it is everywhere unfortunately)

Look at the big picture though, keep in mind you have transportation as well, are they covering a decent portion of that or any at all? I’m not sure if this is relevant but kamen think about ldaman etc.

I’m not sure about the legality of it all tbh but I remember watching a mini documentary somewhere about waiters wages and their reliance on tips in lebanon
