After nearly a decade without major updates, one of the most established chart platforms in the Last.fm community is finally back completely rebuilt and reimagined.

ZERO Charts is a project that has existed for over 10 years, created for personal chart enthusiasts and anyone who loves numbers, stats, and pop music culture in general. The platform transforms your weekly Last.fm statistics into a personalized Hot 100 experience, featuring customizable chart layouts, records, certifications, and detailed chart tracking tools.

With over 1,000 members already helping test before launch, the entire site has gone through massive visual and technical improvements while still preserving the soul of the original ZERO Charts experience.

The goal is to create a customizable platform for users, with 10+ themes currently in development for future release, alongside brand-new chart views, tools, responsive mobile support, and multiple visual modes.

With the introduction of a PRO experience, the platform can finally sustain a stronger and more robust server infrastructure for the future.

Come build your own musical universe!

All covers across the site are now customizable

Complete Artist/Album/Song page with advance tools, views and graphics

Tool Turn your last.fm profile into a garden

I built a web app called garden.fm where you can search for your last.fm profile and visualize it as a garden. It features an XP system, stats, and charts, along with a garden made from your top 25 most listened artists, each represented as a different type of plant based on how much you’ve listened to them.

feel free to try it out and let me know what you think

Tool I'LL find YOUR top 10 tracks with the same name!

I made a script that will find your top 10 songs that share a name.
ex.
Shit: Bo Burnham (40) Neil Cicierega (35)

Both songs must have at least 10 scrobbles to be shown!

Comment your username and I'll find them for you! :)

EDIT: It might take me a while to get to all of these. I will respond to them all though! :)

Tool I made an app that turns your Last.fm history into an auto-updating wallpaper for iPhone and iPad!

Post image
372 Upvotes

Hey folks! I'm Jack, an independent iOS developer and music lover. I wanted a way to make my wallpaper reflect my favorite music, so I built Opus - Music Wallpaper. The app has been around for the better part of a year, but I just updated it to support Last.fm! It integrates with Shortcuts on iPhones and iPads to automatically set your wallpaper each day.

Opus turns your music history into personalized wallpapers, and now with Last.fm support, you can now use the app even if you aren't an Apple Music user. It offers a grid-style collage for free (like the many posts in this sub haha), and if you want to unlock more customization, there are other styles such as vinyl record layouts. You can filter by a specific playlist, top tracks, or recent plays, and Opus generates a wallpaper from the album art.

To celebrate this update, I'm temporarily discounting Opus Pro Lifetime to $10 USD through the weekend. If you have any thoughts or questions, I'd love to hear them!

Tool Showing what's scrobbling now on an LED display

LIke many of you I've been excited about the recent news—I'd love to see last.fm thrive in this current era of music, where people are often unsatisfied with the status quo and looking for new ways to discover music, curate what they love, and share their taste with their friends. I've been scrobbling probably since about 2006, though I've been locked out of my original account since 2020 :(

I make Tuneshine, which is a lo-fi album art display that shows the artwork for your songs as you listen. As a long time scrobbler, when I started working on a music-related product in 2021 I knew I had to support last.fm. After Spotify, it was the second integration I added. Why? It's because last.fm doesn't care how you listen—streaming services can cause people's entire music experiences to be siloed, and it doesn't have to be that way! I think it says a lot that in 2026 many of the top streaming services—Spotify, Tidal, and Qobuz, as well as most media player software—still have direct integration with last.fm. The platform they've built has shown a lot of longevity and I'm proud to support it with Tuneshine.

One of my favorite things about running a solo business is getting to talk directly to the people who use or are interested in Tuneshine, so I'll be hanging out in the comments section ready to answer any questions you have about Tuneshine and how it works with last.fm.

Tool I made a Lastfm Top artist showcase generator

Hi guys, I made this small Top Artist generator using the Lastfm api. Right now it only shows top artists of all time but I'll hopefully be adding more customisability in it.

Try it out at https://tix-fm.vercel.app/

I would appreciate any feedback and would like to see what your top artists look like. Here are mine.

Tool Made a tool that turns your top artists over the past 12 months into an underground map

Hi all, it's been a while since I posted about my site musipie.skybly.net here - I originally made it for generating pie charts of your top artists, but I've added two new chart types since then - a receipt mode and the brand new underground map . Hope you enjoy and I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Tool Built a thing for Last.fm users - Listening DNA

NO SIGN UP REQUIRED

Been working on a side project that analyzes your scrobbling data and tells you what kind of listener you are. It looks at your loyalty to artists, how much you discover new music, how obscure your taste is, stuff like that.

Also added an "on this day" feature that shows what you were listening to 1-5 years ago, which has been fun to see.

It's free, just needs your Last.fm username site: https://verve.fm/dna

Would love feedback from this community since you're basically who I built it for. much more is planned for the future.

I'm building a tool to find more about countries of your listened artists + some stats like:

  • World / Contintents coverage
  • Most listened artists per country
  • Extra countries like Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia, etc.

Would you use such a tool (for free)?

Which feature \ features you would love the most?

Tool List of Last.fm stats and tools sites - 2024 updated

Some of you might remember my old list which I stopped updating a long time ago. I felt it's time to make a new, up-to-date version. This time I made a few changes.

I switched to bullet points descriptions. This will hopefully make the list easier to read, but it will also make it less time consuming to keep up to date.

I also included only sites working with Last.fm. I might make list of Spotify sites some day in the future, but right now I focused on Last.fm only. I also no longer include information about dark mode availability and mobile friendliness as I don't think these are all that much important factors and keeping track of them takes too much time (especially the mobile friendly thing).

Please comment any site that's missing so I can add it. And have fun with all these great tools.

Tool Scrobbly - Last.fm scrobbler for Apple Music goes for TestFlight

Hey everyone!

I’ve been working on a new Last.fm scrobbler called Scrobbly and it just hit TestFlight. I felt like the current options were missing some "modern" iOS features, so I built this mainly for myself but decided to try put it in App Store.

Key Features:

  • Live Scrobbling: Watch your progress in real-time via Live Activities on your Lock Screen or Dynamic Island.
  • Scrobble from Recents: You can scrobble directly from your Apple Music "Recently Played"—and the best part is the songs don't need to be in your library to work.
  • Beautiful UI: Dedicated "Now Playing" screen with full-size album art, zen mode and matching widgets.

Planning to more stuff like basic stats etc. when I have time. Feel free to suggest features.

I’m looking for some music lovers to put it through its paces and let me know what you think of the flow. There is 50 spots open currently on TestFlight

TestFlight Link:https://testflight.apple.com/join/jznGf9ns

EDIT: Now there is 200 spots. A little surprised by the interest to be honest! Anyways thanks for testing this out and keep commenting if something is bugged or some nice feature is missing and I see what I can do.

EDIT 2: Added few requested features like custom scrobble point and advanced metadata cleaning

EDIT 3: Fixed more reported stuff. Thanks to reporters.

Tool A universal last.fm scrobbler is coming - for any media player on any desktop device

Hey scrobblers! I'm excited to announce that my app Music Presence will soon support scrobbling to Last.fm for 78+ media players on Windows, Mac and Linux. Streaming services and offline players included.

I am the solo developer behind this app and I'm currently looking for sponsors to fund my work. We've already reached about 25% of the funding goal to allow me to commit to the project full-time. More details on my website: musicpresence.app

I intend to have scrobbling implemented by September this year. Features will include:

  • Scrobbling to Last.fm for any desktop media player you can think of
  • Automatically modify metadata before it's being scrobbled using regular expressions
  • Filter out any media that matches certain criteria
  • Real-time view of what is being scrobbled directly in your system tray

You can find many more details about what's to come here: github.com/ungive/discord-music-presence/issues/365

I am not creating this from scratch, but as an addition to the already very functional Music Presence app. Currently Music Presence is the gold standard for sharing your current music listening activity in your Discord status with over 100k downloads, 10k+ daily users and 1k+ GitHub stars. You can find it here!

For me it's only a matter of finding the time to work on this. The best way I can do that is by committing to the project in a full-time capacity. The app already has about 100 sponsors behind it at the time of writing and I intend to bring it much further than just scrobbling and a Discord status, by working on listening along with friends next, once scrobbling and browser support is complete.

If this excites you, consider helping out with a small monthly donation! You can find the live donation progress, donation goal, project timeline and a list of all sponsors on my website: musicpresence.app

I am happy to answer any questions you might have in the comments!

Disclaimer: This is my personal project. Music Presence is not affilliated with or endorsed by Last.fm, Discord or any streaming service.

Tool I built a site that maps your scrobbles onto your running routes

Thumbnail
gallery
214 Upvotes

I've been working on a side project called TrackMap that I think this sub might like. It connects your Lastfm account with Strava and uses the timestamps from your scrobbles to map exactly what you were listening to at each point on a run. So it's not just "here are songs you listened to on a run day,” it's matching your scrobble timestamps against your GPS data to show that you were listening to, say, Caribou at mile 2 and LCD Soundsystem by mile 4. Each song gets its own color on the route, so you end up with a rainbow-colored map of your music across the miles.

It started as a personal curiosity thing. I wanted to see what I was actually listening to at different points in a run, but it's grown into something with a few features I'm pretty happy with:

  • Playlist Lab where you upload a route file and it generates a playlist matched to the terrain, pulling from your listening history and Lastfm discovery. Works for walks and rides too, not just runs.
  • Insights that pull from your scrobble + run data together: most played running song, fastest average pace song ("power song"), highest BPM track, and a ranked table of your top songs by pace and heart rate.
  • Posters: shareable graphics built from your activity and music data (like a song pace ranking card).
  • Running Atlas that overlays all your routes into one map with frequently-run paths glowing brighter. You can color code by genre.
  • A run playback mode that animates your run on the map while scrolling through the song list in sync.

Lastfm is the core music data layer, which is actually one of the reasons I built it this way. The scrobble history is way more accessible for this kind of thing than trying to pull directly from Spotify. If you use Spotify, you just need scrobbling enabled and it all works.

You can also manually upload Spotify JSON exports, Apple Music CSVs, or GPS files if you don't use Strava. All data stays local in your browser.

Would love any feedback from this community since you're basically the target audience.

Site is track-map.com

EDIT:

A few points given questions and feedback here:

  1. You can use the tool for walks, hikes, bike rides, treadmills. Does not need to be a run.
  2. I have fixed several bugs in the app since posting but please please please let me know if you find more. Even something minor like a UI annoyance.
  3. You don't have to use Strava. You can upload GPX files etc.
  4. Thank you! This is a passion project and it's just really cool to see that other people might like the idea or have thought about the same idea!

Tool Libre.fm now supports importing from Last.fm

Hey, it’s Matt from Libre.fm here. If you don't know, Libre.fm is a 17 year open source project that is creating a similar scrobbling site. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Libre.fm

Just a quick note to say that Last.fm importing is now available to everyone. Just send a support email -- support@libre.fm -- with both your Libre.fm and Last.fm usernames and I’ll get to you as soon as possible.

  • Your most recent 200 scrobbles will be imported and any new scrobbles will be imported pretty quickly after you listen to them. A regular check is run (the more often you scrobble, the more often it checks your account) and if the check finds you listening to anything now, it’ll appear on your profile.

  • Later this year I will be backfilling accounts with historical scrobbling data so eventually all of your data will be copied over. That will start happening later this year (in a few months from now, maybe sooner.)

  • If you already have a backup, you can just email that to me and I'll import it.

I’ve been working basically full time on the site for the last few weeks to get this finished up.

Tool I got so tired of "(Remastered)" and "[Official Video]" ruining my scrobble stats, so I built an automated metadata cleaning pipeline. Here is how it works (and the tests to prove it).

If you’ve been using Last.fm for more than a week, you know the reality of junk metadata. We've all seen our top tracks split between three different versions of the same song.

I'm the developer behind Now Playing: Stats & Scrobble, and fixing junk metadata automatically was one of my biggest priorities... and challenges. I've published a deep dive into exactly how my multi-tier metadata cleaning pipeline works under the hood. I thought the data nerds here would appreciate seeing how I solved this before the scrobbles ever hit your profile.

Read the write-up here: Advanced Metadata Cleaning Pipeline Explained

Real examples from my music library

Most basic cleaners can handle a simple (Remastered) tag, but standardizing music metadata means you have to deal with tracks that stack multiple tags in nested brackets, use semi-colon separated tags, mismatched brackets, non-standard spacing, em-dashes, international characters, and more... All while retaining the text that is core to the songs identity.

Here are three actual examples pulled straight from my library that the pipeline successfully scrubbed:

  • Original Track: Epic Anthem (Remastered 2026) [Live at Wembley] (Bonus Track) [Radio Edit] Cleaned Output: Epic Anthem
  • Original Track: Silence (Niels van Gogh vs Thomas Gold Remix [Radio Edit]) Cleaned Output: Silence (Niels van Gogh vs Thomas Gold Remix)
  • Original Track: Take on Me (1985 Single Mix) (1985 Single Mix; 2015 Remaster) Cleaned Output: Take on Me

Because handling edge cases in music metadata is an absolute nightmare, I didn't want to just write about it, I wanted to show how it's tested.

If you want to see the the full list of assertions used to verify the accuracy of the pipeline, you can view the actual Kotlin test suite file directly here: TrackProcessorTest.kt

What is the absolute worst metadata offender in your library that you are constantly having to edit or fix manually? Let me know so I can throw it into the test suite and make sure the pipeline catches it!

Tool I made a printer for my scrobbles

The printer checks Last.fm every few seconds for new scrobbles and prints them live as I listen, it started as a dumb idea a few nights ago when I saw a comment on this sub joking about printing their scrobbles

Tool Last.fm Atlas tool is live now

Today I decided to release Last.fm app with countries / regions / continents coverage stats.

  • Contains 255 countries and regions.
  • Almost .25M artists.

I've heard you and:

  • You can suggest corrections for a given artist.
  • UK has regions -> England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales. (And UK is also a separate country itself)

In progress + In future:

  • Refining data.
  • Genres and music styles.

Tell me what do you think and let me know if you find any bugs. This version is alpha and despite of over 300 tasks done, there might be still something wrong :)

Tool last.fm Wrapped is finally here!

Hey,
I made a website that turns your scrobbles into Spotify Wrapped-like graphics!
You're able to create a recap of the last full week, month, or even year!

As with most lastfm utility sites, you only need to type your (or anybody else's) username and tada - the site will create a total of six different graphics for you:

  • Overview
  • Artists
  • Albums
  • Tracks
  • Genres
  • Personality

These graphics can be easily downloaded as png files, which makes it really easy posting them to your Instagram story, for example.

Keep in mind that I'm new to this and in no way a professional programmer. I just thought it would be fun to have an easy way of sharing your music stats!
Feel free to let me know what you think and please share bugs, if you encounter any.

Tool I have created a script/theme combination that redesigns Last.fm and adds a bunch of extra appearance and music-related options!

bleh is a combination of a script and a userstyle (both combined together and installed with Tampermonkey, Violentmonkey or whatever else - though i've noticed Tamper handles in-built updating better). It has been in proper developement since early 2024 and has just now reached a point i'm happy with making more public, hope everyone likes :3

You can find a lot of screenshots and information on the site

Here's a selection of features currently available:

  • Community-contributed music title capitalisation (faster than Last.fm's inbuilt system)
  • Ability to choose a custom colour and theme (ranging from 2 light and 3 dark themes)
  • Redesigned gallery, library, and profiles
  • Automatic song title tag detection (allows placing featured artists in the artist field instead of title, and putting more focus on the original title than "Remix")
  • New graph options (pie chart and line chart) in your library and a handy graph preview on all profiles
  • Markdown support in your "About Me" (only visible to other bleh users though)
  • A "Recent activity" panel reminiscent of early Last.fm
  • An in-built settings and first-time setup page for the extension
  • Accessibility options to reduce animations and change font settings
  • Translation support

And it's open source :3 It's still a work in progress in some areas but bug reports and feature requests are welcome!!

Tool Listening Facts - your top tracks in a format that resembles a nutrition facts label

Post image

Hi there,

I made this website: https://listeningfacts.com for fun. You can generate nutrition facts look alike labels but with the given username’s music data.

It’s similar and heavily inspired by receiptify.

Let me know what y’all think. Any feedback or suggestions are appreciated.

Tool I built a Billboard-style chart system for your Last.fm scrobbles – weekly rankings, GOAT points, listening streaks, and more

I've been scrobbling for years and always wanted to see my listening data as an actual Billboard chart - weekly rankings with chart positions, peak tracking, and an all-time points system.

I originally built all of this in R in college with my own data, but it was just local scripts and plots. So I decided to use Claude to help me turn it into an actual web app that anyone can use.

Music Box – sign in with your Last.fm account and it imports your entire scrobble history, then generates:

  • Weekly Billboard charts for songs, albums, and artists – browse any week going back to your first scrobble
  • GOAT points – a custom scoring formula that rewards both chart position and play count over time
  • Individual pages – click any song/artist/album to see its full chart history and position over time
  • Head-to-head comparison – compare two songs or artists side by side
  • Listening streaks, rolling peaks, year-over-year stats, and more
  • It's completely free, no password needed – just authorize with Last.fm. Your data imports in a few minutes. Light/dark mode

https://music-box-neon.vercel.app

It costs me a few bucks a month to keep running so hopefully some people get use out of it. Would love to hear what you think and am always open to feedback and suggestions! Also let me know if you find any bugs or it crashes, might need to upgrade the servers to handle more traffic 😅. Currently free to use but any support is appreciated. The name was inspired by the one and only Mariah Carey.

Edit: Since the initial launch, I have added many more features and stats.

Tool I created a script that will let you bulk edit all your scrobbles of an artist or album at once! Fix incorrect artist names, merge albums, clean up tags. (More information on this project in the comments.)
