Ha ha i was expecting this. Vaiko is shameless.. he went to bjp in 2014 for mp seat. But then he lost. So he came back to dmk. He fought in dmk against KK projecting stalin as next leader. Now he is doing the samething in mdmk. All 2nd level leaders in mdmk has already left disgruntled.. i hope he resigns and contests again only to lose the seat.

Unfortunately, I think Tamils are the one who are shameless. 

Most Tamil people supported this fraudulent non-Tamil guy as the supposed voice of Tamil unity/pride for far too long. 

In any other state, would they let a Tamil guy speak on behalf of Kannada pride or Marathi pride or whatever? 

Either apply xenophobia vs open-mindedness across all states, or apply 'indigenous' vs 'settler' in TN as well. 

This guy is so spineless, as a grown man, he literally changed his name to serve his political master (at that time) Jayalalithaa.

I dont subscribe to this xenophobic argument.. the telugu castes you are talking about have settled here for long time and some of them have contributed to tamil struggles genuinely..

Vaiko is just a political opportunist. Such opportunists can be found from every background. So we should not bring his caste and mother tongue background while criticising him..

It cannot be selectively termed 'xenophobic', when the same thing is termed 'indigenous' elsewhere. 

The issue is literally based on language. So, why would his language not matter? 

By the same logic, the Tamils in Sri Lanka have been in SL for generations as well. 

So, why is Vaiko pretending to care? 

I clear stated this... 

Either apply xenophobia vs open-mindedness across all states, or apply 'indigenous' vs 'settler' in TN as well. 

People here in TN need to stop this bullshít of applying different standards in different states. 

The Tamils of Karnataka/Bangalore are treated as Tamils, even though they speak Kannada better than Tamil, and have been around for centuries. They are not rising up to Vaiko's level there. Nor will they be 'allowed' to represent Kannadigas. 

And there is an implicit casteist reason for this double standard to exist. Because the non-Tamil communities here in TN are deemed 'upper caste', whereas the working class Tamils settled elsewhere in the country are deemed 'lower caste'.
