Cuisine Restaurants in Prishtina

I would really appreciate some advice on restaurants in Prishtina for our upcoming visit next week (first time in Kosova). We will go to Liburnia one night, but need a recommendation for Thursday or Friday night. Looking for a place that will have a nice buzz (so mostly full tables) where we can enjoy good food and wine (any cuisine will do). I’m considering Salt, Sonder and Hapiteria. Worried Salt is style over substance and not that popular locally? We’re in our late 40s if that’s useful to know! Thank you.

Salt is overrated!

I second this. Loud music, “fine dining” with the food being average at best.

Consider also Liburnia, pretty traditional restaurant, always full on the weekends. They have great food and wine.

Thank you all!! Is it easy to get to and back from Soma Slow Food given its location? Guessing we will need a taxi both ways?

Yes, you'll need a taxi for both ways.

Depending on when you go, you can always take the nr 4 bus there and walk through Germia to get to the restaurant.

It’s probably a 30 min walk from the bus station.

Don't go to soma slow food, you're in for a big disappointment

Go to Tiffany for a better traditional experience or restaurants in Bernice

Or even Sonder (but brunch is better there)

It might cost you a bit for taxi back and forth but you wont have problems getting there.

I’d recommend Cassava. The food there is simply amazing.

So many wonderful suggestions! Thank you!!

Can I ask one more add on question. What time do people eat out in Prishtina? Would making a dinner at reservation at 20:00 be a good time? Not too early and not too late?

Soma :)

Thanks! That’s really helpful. I’ll look at Soma now.

Is Shpija e Vjeter more traditional cuisine? As going to Liburnia already I was thinking of something more ‘modern’ for the other dinner?

Shpja Vjeter is definitely more traditional. Soma Slow food should be your choice here (its fantastic), i suggest Shpija Vjeter for a breakfast if you will be staying close to he center :)

I have few recommendations. Many recommended Soma slow food and it is very good, however you are not exploring the local cuisine as much if you only go there. For a gourmet restaurant, try Thana-Redon, but it is pricy. For traditional definitely go for Liburnia, Taverna Shkodrane (eating and drinking with music and a festive atmosphere), Rennaisance, N’Katun (outside Prishtina, in google maps “Restorani Nkatun”, Hamari Agroturizem (amazing ribs and traditional food). Enjoy.

Is Thana-Redon pricier than Soma Slow Food?

It may be on the pricier side if you go for all/full courses, but it is worth it.

Tiffany the best

I would go to Soma Slow food or Shpija e Vjeter. I personally dont like Salt but ive never been to Sonder or Hapiteria so they might be good too.

Shpija e vjeter has lowered its quality to embarrasing levels. Food is terrible, service is terrible, hygiene concerning. I was there this summer and was disappointed and disgusted.

2

u/AccomplishedBlock874 28d ago

Oh damn ok.

u/LexPhantomO 28d ago

They have a chef experience where you get half portions for all the courses and is 50% of thefor each plate.

2

u/AccomplishedBlock874 28d ago

Is Shpija e Vjeter same quality as Soma?

0

u/Methoxiii 28d ago

no i wouldnt say, Soma Slow food is definitely better quality than Shpija e Vjeter. Shpija e Vjeter is cheaper, maybe more traditional but still has tasty food. Also its closer to the center although Soma Slow food is my main recommendation. Shpija Vjeter can also be good for breakfast

Soma slow food

Tiffany (my and Dua Lipas favorite restaurant)

Both of them local food. Soma is modern Interpretation of local stuff, fancy, high quality

Tiffany is down to earth, traditional high quality food.
