Bought a mini 6 64gb. My thoughts and feedback
Wanted an iPad for media consumption and reading and a week ago posted here asking if the mini 6 with 64gb would still be worth it.
Mostly the feedback was to not go for it but my brother was selling it for a decent price, so to help him and for not wanting to spend extra on a a16 or mini7 decided to still give it a try.

So knowing there is and there will be more people with the same dilema, here’s my feedback:
- If you find one used cheap and your use will be basic, with already a specific use in mind like media streaming, YouTube, drawing or reading, it will be perfectly fine and enough.
- If your idea is to download a few movies, a couple games, maybe try a few new different apps, have your photos there as backup, all your music playlist, etc.. the 64gb isn’t enough and you shouldn’t go for it.
In my case, I have 1 or 2 heavier games, 3gb of Spotify music, a couple photos, my streaming apps and I’m at 40gb out of 64gb. Also updated to the latest IOS26.
My idea was to sell it if an appealing mini8 does come out but this one has been more than enough, might not even sell it if that does happen

Yeah I had the same conclusions with my mini, I feel a better consideration / debate is whether it’s better to go older (ie iPad mini 6) with more storage or newer (iPad mini 7/8 when it’s out) with less - on that front it’s a harder call I would feel

I passed along my 6 to wifey when I saw a 7 on eBay for a literal steal. 17 charge cycles, 100% BH, with box and new Sage Smart Folio for $320 usd. The wife won’t even realize it’s only 64gb since all our music and photos are in the cloud. So every one is happy!! Enjoy the 6 it’s the same essentially as the 7.

I think if you plan to use this as an everyday device, you should look to get a seven or wait until the eight comes out and get a seven after it depreciates. Or just splurge and get the eight. I recently bought the six, but I don’t plan on downloading anything ever. I just use it to stream while I’m at the gym and that’s it. It definitely shows its age. I would not recommend anyone who planned on actually using it heavily to get one. It’s obsolete now.

My son has a 6 and that 64gb is definitely a huge limiting factor these days with everything using data. He mostly streams but anytime we do any trips or anything, it’s a struggle to figure out what movies to download since he can only have a few. The device itself still works great tho - and we have had it since release, so it clearly has a market for the non-downloader type people.

I have a 64gb. You have to be conscious about what you choose to download.. I reguarly download and delete movies and playlists

128 is limiting for my son on his mini 7. I think 256 is the new comfortable spot.

I love my mini 6
Form factor is perfect, its smooth and doesn't struggle with anything I throw at it. But at 64g as well I need to cycle through the content i load on it .
Download movies for a trip or prime shows etc, have to delete some other stuff.
But for notes with pen, YouTube, content consumption, books even comics when I had a subscription, it was perfect!
I'll maybe upgrade for an 8, but liekly when the 9 is on the horizon.
Perfect size ipad in my boos
