Discussion iPad Mini 6th gen display

My iPad mini display is very dim when streaming movies (Netflix, Crave, Amazon etc). It’s ok when watching in a dark room, but the visual almost completely disappears in brighter rooms with moderate sunlight. This is not a new issue. I’ve checked the settings for the obvious culprits but no improvement. My system is getting old so considering an upgrade to a new iPad. Can I expect better display performance in a newer model?

i had this exact issue with an older ipad mini. the newer ones are way brighter - the ipad mini 7th gen hits around 500 nits compared to your 6th gen's 380 or so. for streaming in sunlight you'd want at least that. honestly the ipad air 5th gen or ipad pro 11-inch get even brighter around 600 nits if screen quality matters a lot to you. iPad Air 5th Gen and iPad Mini 7th Gen both handle bright rooms way better than what you have now.

The iPad mini 6th and 7th gen displays are almost identical, both 500nits. Hold out a few months for a potential OLED display, which will be vastly brighter.
