Yes, it is indeed ‘peace deal denial Monday’. Calls for ‘finalizing peace plan Friday’

The Straight of Hormuz wasn’t even a bargaining chip before Trump attacked. Leaving that unsecured had to be one of the biggest bonehead moves in history.

u/ernapfz 1d ago

Trump has and can do more once he sets his mind to it … errr

1

u/BillTowne 3h ago

Iran could have blocked the straight at any time but didn't becasue they were afraid we would bomb the shit out of them. We Trump bombed the shit out of them, anyway. Now they have very little incentive to keep it open.

And trump just said again he’s not in a hurry to reach a deal so… enjoy I guess

At least he is gold plating statues around DC and making the lincoln memorial look like a water park.

I hope the next admin tears it all down.

Gotta keep manipulating that stock market

Not buying the "Iran is losing" narrative. USA keeps breaking ceasefires (if they were ever truly agreed to in the first place) and it's probably getting hard for Iran to mediate the strait when there's literally 0 point negotiating with the administration. "Fuck em and block the whole thing" seems like a valid strategy at this point. What do they have to lose?

5

u/ChefCurryYumYum 1d ago

Israel is the country really breaking the ceasefire, they don't want to stop their expansion into Lebanon.

But Iran is not going to countenance that so we're stuck in the same place, with the world paying more money for everything and Trump and Bibi don't care that much.

well they share the strait of Hormuz with Oman, but they dropped a shitload of mines in the territorial waters of Oman. They did this because the usual route through the strait is is in the territorial waters of Oman.

So i don't think Oman is very happy about this, definitely not in the long run if Iran wants to police the Strait of Hormuz.

u/ChefCurryYumYum 1d ago

What do you expect Oman to do? They aren't going to engage in a shooting war with Iran and be subjected to more expensive drone and missile strikes.

If the US and Israel can't force it open then Oman has zero chance.

Get in bed with US and Israel! Imma show myself out….

1

u/ChefCurryYumYum 3h ago

Oman already has normalized relations with the US and Israel and they are one of the US's "regional allies."

Of course with Trump making everyone's life hell with his stupid decisions and mistreatment of those allies who knows how long it will stay that way.

BTW, anyone reading this been looking at the bond markets these days? Shit is fucked, they are about to inflate our money beyond all bounds, welcome to the 1970's again.

Meanwhile Trump has the midterms breathing down his neck.

And a depleting emergency oil reserve before the real price shock hits.

And that putting a 79 year old with signs of bad health under stress is its own strategy

All for show people, who wanted this war to start? Who encouraged this war to continue? Who also said the quiet part out loud and everyone in the media just glazed over it and didn’t even highlight that the Gaza Strip was also being developed for future plans?

Reuters

I mean, not even a conspiracy you just have to connect the public announcement dots people.

It's very clear that the more Israel pushes into Lebanon, the less Iran wants to deal. Israel is keeping this war going, and Trump is letting them.

3

u/acuet 1d ago

Lebanon is just the next phase…….then the next phase……and so on.

Don't the other countries surrounding that body of water rely heavily on it for general supplies coming in? A total blockade, after this already months long partial blockade, strikes me as quite a bit of tension that would lead to a general regional war.  So is there going to be another Iraq - Iran war?

I feel like the big takeaway every country is getting out of this is, "You need your own nukes because it's the only way the US will leave you alone". Good work.

As a Canadian I can tell Iran. . Trump won't honor any deal. He tore up Canada-US trade agreements illegally. But I"m sure Iran already knows that.

1

u/BillTowne 4h ago

He tore up a deal with Iran. He bomb them during negotiations. I think they know yu can't believe a word he says.

Soooooooo this is actually good news...... Iran is somehow losing lol. Idk how.

- "Complete Blockade" means they can no longer offer selective passage to their buddies. Now the whole world suffers.

- iran / nk / china / russia are the weakest on the world stage when EVERYONE is disadvantaged. They only have the advantage when they can circle jerk each other. (iran cant participate much now obv, russia is on fire, china economy is gonna catch up to them cuz of russia, nk just nk)

- My guess is iran cannot stop the US blockade, meaning their partial blockade is useless. Soooooooooo they just close all of it. This is where a larger group of cooperating nations (Europe and NATO) will always have the advantage. They literally have more options than others.

- Also, Slava Ukraini. The only thing that did not go according to the axis powers plans since 2014 was Ukraine.

It's terrible news for those who like to not fork over more and more and more money to O&G - namely, everyone, but mostly those who struggle to afford necessities.

"But who cares about needing to eat? USA is winning! Woooooo!"

9

u/seanpbnj 1d ago

That's not what I said... I hate the current USA. I hate the current admin. Current USA is fighting for russia. And Iran. USA bailed Iran out..... Please do not misunderstand.

  • Fuck the USA, fuck this admin, and fuck ice.

  • Iran and russia can puppet the USA and they are STILL LOSING lol.

  • iran is losing for some other reason. It does not mean the USA is winning. The USA is not winning. The USA is losing everything.

3

u/oldcreaker 1d ago

And no mention of US repeatedly violating ceasefire and moving the goalposts on negotiations. Let's blame Iran and make them look like the aggressors instead.

Good news. Fuck oil.

1

u/ISmellLikeBlackTea 1d ago

Or just keep getting paid in Bitcoin to let ships from all other countries pass, and purchase a Nuclear Weapon from South Africa/Pakistan/Russia/China.

1

u/aop5003 16h ago

I'm starting to feel like this is all just rigged by both sides to manipulate markets until 4th of July so trump can use it campaign on till midterms, interest rates plummet, assets inflate, etc.

u/your_catfish_friend 1d ago

Complete blockage is not economically-feasible. It would take a huge volume of concrete, potentially more than the world’s production of it

6

u/seanpbnj 1d ago

Nope, just takes a threat and a few bombs. "Complete blockade" means they are going to attack all ships. Not necessarily that they are LITERALLY blocking it.

1

u/cyclingbubba 1d ago

What ??? A blockade is easily achieved with drones and sea mines. Commercial shipping insurers will not insure ships transiting dangerous conditions. Ship owners will not risk transiting the straits with no insurance.
