Fire pits at the beach
Is it’s still advisable to get to HB before 6 am to reserve a fire pit? I’m doing this Saturday and my friend wants to get there at 10 am. I told him they would all be taken already.
Also are there fire pits all along the state and city beach or just city?

Unless it’s a major holiday there are almost always plenty of open pits.

I run there every weekend, your friends are good at 10am. It’s not busy season yet.

You'll be fine. The weather won't be great this weekend. Just make sure you are very special to the location you tell people to meet you at I recommend getting on as close to to tower 17 as possible. There are duplicate tower numbers between Huntington City Beach and Huntington State Beach but only 1 Tower 17. I would not recommend going near Tower 7 at City beach because that parking lot is very limited because the camp ground is still going to be open. If you go later in the morning or afternoon you may not get one near Tower 17 but you'll be able to get one. Parking is now 20/day.

You might get lucky. Theres a wiener dog fest in front of the Hilton on the beach. It ends at 3pm, when they’re done cleaning up they’ll be some pits available. Also check in front of the rv parking area, those are the last to fill up since there’s no regular parking. (Rv parking is in front of pacific city)

I live right next to the beach and walk/run it literally every day. Other than this past holiday weekend there’s been tons of open fire pits. Even Sunday had a bunch of firepits open even at 2pm, Saturday was completely packed though.
