Do people genuinely hate the calm drake flows and rapping on diary type tracks he does nowadays?

Idk bout y'all but those songs are everytime nowadays my fav moments on his newer hip hop adjacent projects bro like him getting in his writing bag without any ghostwriters and locking in over a conductor or alchemist or ovrkast beat is literally everything I want and more bro. Firm Friends, make them cry, make them pay, the entirety of scary hours 3, 8am in Charlotte and etc. and even some other types of bangers with drake locking in on his lyrical shit like national treasures, first person shooter, plot twist, whisper my name and etc. are all amazing. Don't get the people calling them boring and repetitive cuz it's just amazing music to me, drake finally locking in in his flow state over just amazing quality prod

Why do Drake fans care so much about what other people think of his music?

It’s all a bit odd mate.

i wish i could get a real answer for this cause it kinda blows my mind how often Drake fans look for approval in everything

bro look at any subreddit I promise there's questions like this everywhere. it's not just drake fans seeking validation it's a fan wanting to see the opinions of other fans which is like half the point of subreddits

Literally every artist has fans that do this, especially when a new album is out. Mfs will be actively browsing reddit and then try to shame people for using it for its intended purpose.

When J Cole dropped we got these everyday.

He’s in the loop like carabiners

Or is it in the loop like some keys?

in general I like those kinds of tracks but I do not want 10 of them on one album.

make them cry is amazing, but to me it's because the beat is so unique and helps the flows.

remember jada's old quote. y'all use beats for help, we help the beats. drake's at the point now where if the beat isn't helping then he's boring. Maybe he's been there his whole career tho cause I don't think 40 gets enough credit.

I think they range from kinda meh to some of his best tracks ever. Make Them Cry is my favorite song he dropped the other week and might be my favorite Drake song of the last several years

If son had never joined cash money, I doubt he would ever had gotten famous for rapping... no offense...

Yea I like those tracks alot, he actually talks about his life in those ones. That's why Iceman is solid for me, most of the songs feel like Drake actually being real not putting on a persona. I still can't take these victim bars seriously tho, I'm laughing at alot of the shit he says cuz it's so out of touch but that's Drake I'm used to it. 😂

No. People love it that’s why he’s been one of the biggest rappers for the last 17 years. In spite of the hitmaking he can deliver impressive bars and schemes when he actually locks in.

Some of his tracks on Iceman is some of the best rapping I’ve heard from him in a minute.

exactly yet people find a way to shit on it

People on Reddit hate it and it’s a loud but small minority. I’ve been hearing people play his music and especially the new stuff a bunch even at the random quiet bars I go to. I’m not a Kendrick or Drake type of guy but this has been my experience

It’s Drake at the end of the day bro that’s what people do, especially on Reddit. I’ve heard much more balanced takes in real life or on other social medias. This is easily the most positive album reception he’s got in a long time. People in real life like it, who cares what these nerds think?

I find those to be the worse type of songs of his nowadays. He locks into one flow for the whole track, the beats are generally sleepy outside of the alchemist or conductor ones and it’s boring and repetitive. 4pm in Calabases is the last great diary rap style track he’s done in my mind.

U trippin dawg what?

0

u/MrSlime13 12h ago

Yes. Yes, I really do hate these diary-entry, soft-spoken, hazy-beat, laying on the bed, on his stomach, swaying his legs back and forth, fists under his cheeks, thinking about his thoughts, plans, wishes, friends and lost loves.

No, the beats are relaxed but still interesting and his flows fit them perfectly

Message boards and social media isn't real life. Many enjoy it.
