Uncovered Five-lined skink eggs

Post image

Anyone know what I should do with these? Uncovered while moving my garden beds around. I can't put them back because the bed they were in is no longer there. Mom was in the bed but ran off when I started digging it up =/

I put the eggs into a plant draining dish covered loosely by come dirt. Will the mom find them if I put them close to the area? If not, is there anything I can do to help them along?

If you didn’t make sure they’re in the same orientation as when they were laid, they’re in trouble. If you did make sure, then you just have to find a spot to bury them and hope mama comes back. Five-lined skinks do a lot for their babies, they might have a chance without her but their chance is far better with her.

They were unfortunately scooped into my wheelbarrow & then fished out individually after I saw the mom run off... Do they not have a chance if they've been jostled around? There was definitely a lot of movement but none of the eggs have broken

You could always try candling them with your phone flashlight to orient them properly and then put them as close to where they used to be as possible, best of luck!
