Far from it, even stock they will go anywhere.

Sure, they can go anywhere off road by virtue of being a double solid axle 4wd. But on road they're an absolute turd that can't drive in a straight line and due to being a 90's Chrysler product everything except the drivetrain itself is garbage.

Again, wildly untrue. They are some of the best on road too. They are AMC designed, Chrysler had very little to do with them besides modernizing the computer from OBD1 to OBD2. I have a dozen ranging from lowered v8 swapped to lifted on 48s and a big turbo along with 4-5 stocks. I daily a stock+ build with 2in lift and 31s. Sorry your only experience is poorly maintained examples.
