Looking for knowledge

I'm in no way new to firearms or much of anything to do with them but am now looking at the one thing I have no knowledge in.

I have done plenty of traveling with my firearms but have never flown with one. I just want to make sure I'm good to go first time and not have any issues.

I'll only be taking my personal protection carry pistol. I was figuring on using a small Apache case (harbor freight) as I already have a bunch of them that I used for pistol storage. In the case I would put my unloaded pistol ( no mag in it) then beside it in the same case I would have 3 loaded mags all secured in holes in the foam so nothing moves around. Case would be closed and locked with 2 locks (one on each side of course) that take the same key. That case would then be inside my suitcase with my clothes and it too would be locked by a padlock.

Would this qualify as a properly secured and stored for TSA and their requirements?

Thanks in advance for the information.

TSA allows magazines in the same locked hard case, but ammo has to be securely packaged, and some airlines are pickier about loaded mags, so I’d use factory ammo boxes or a dedicated ammo box to avoid counter agent roulette.

Ok I can easily do that. But this is why I'm asking. The way I understood loaded mags were ok in the same case as long as they were no in the firearm itself. Thanks.
