Tsukasa:
- Impulsive.
- Extrovert with poor social skills.

So how about you guys? Which ones do y’all relate to the most and why?

Discussion Hanako-kun's Cuts
If I'm not mistaken, this part of the manga served as a kind of draft that was abandoned by AidaIro (sorry if I'm wrong).
.
.
.
.
I usually think a lot about this, about how each broken rule caused a cut to appear on Hanako's wrist. However, there were cuts before he met Yashiro (in that same chapter) that make me wonder how he truly managed each of them. What kind of rules did he break before Yashiro? Even after years of being dead, he has FEW cuts, so I wonder, how did he get them?
From that chapter onwards, when the manga truly began (from chapter 1), we never heard about the cuts or the broken rules again, after chapter 0. If this is still part of the manga, just imagine how many cuts Hanako already has? Imagine how much he still suffers in silence without anyone knowing? Because everything he's doing now is simply breaking all the rules: disregarding rumors (all monsters must obey as their rumor is created), helping humans, and destroying other monsters. The opposite of what he should be doing.
Perhaps Hanako doesn't talk about it because he hates looking weak? Perhaps Hanako doesn't care anymore? Who knows.

Discussion Pretty sure this is where my hatred for Hanako began... Spoiler
Alright, I know this might be a risky question to ask, considering how iconic this scene is (especially for HanaNene shippers), but I was sorta curious if I was the only one who felt this way about it. Yes, this is a very emotional scene, and I'm not saying it's a bad scene.
All I'm saying is that I think I felt the opposite of what the rest of the fandom was feeling when I read this panel. Cause I was just mad lol
In fact, I think this scene was what may have been the starting point of my hatred for Hanako as a person.
Is it beautifully tragic that he confesses his true feelings on wishing he could have lived a real life with Yashiro as soon as he disappears in order to save Yashiro's life? Yes, definitely. And I definitely recognized this back then, too, but what consumed me was the rest of the chapter's context and everything that had happened till now.
I'll say this straight out of the gate, but I don't think he deserved to tell her that.
Let me explain:
Now the scene begins with Hanako, frustratingly cryptic as always. Yashiro doesn't suspect anything and grows increasingly restless at how distant he's being as he hesitates to tell her the truth, and the information he does give her is so fragmented that she can't really make anything of it, because he was already planning to take away her memories again. The scene has barely begun, and the poor girl is already beyond confused by a cryptic Hanako who suddenly reveals himself to be disintegrating (without explaining that he's not actually fading out of existence). And then, when he gives her a comforting hug, she's not sure how to process; he suddenly tries to take away her memories. The one thing that prevented this from happening was Sumire's protective bracelet. Yashiro is panicking a lot but tries to reason with Hanako, wanting to believe the best of him. When he remains silent, she gets rightfully mad at him for always doing things for her without consulting her.
Once removing Yashiro's memories from her mind is no longer an option, he finally decides to tell her more, and he does so by acting more villainously. He gives her a false sense of peace by saying her wish has been granted, and once her guard is down, he reveals that Aoi is dead, completely stunning Yashiro. He even starts hurting her feelings by saying that he sacrificed Aoi because he likes Yashiro more, and says the most hurtful thing he could possibly say to her: That she'll be fine, since she'll someday forget both Hanako and Aoi.
It's obvious what he's trying to do. Painfully obvious. He's trying to be as hurtful and detached as possible in order to ensure that Yashiro won't hold any lingering attachments to him. It was a meek attempt to make her hate him in the hopes that she would someday bounce back from his betrayal.
Now then, you'd think this is what I would be mad over, but that's not the case. Rather, I understand why he did what he did, even if I disagreed with it. However, what really made me mad was how the scene ended. Because he folded.
Now I understand why he folded: he saw that his attempt to make her hate him didn't go as expected, and her tearfully begging him not to go hurt Hanako more than her intended slap ever could have. I understand his feelings; however, he did not deserve to leave her with these words. Those words not only placed a massive weight on her and left her with feelings she couldn't convey as he left her on the premise that they would never see each other again, but I personally think he did not deserve to lessen his own burden by making his feelings known, even if that in itself placed a new burden. These words would haunt Yashiro for such a long time now that he confirmed that he felt the same way as her. He decided to play the bad guy, and he should have committed to it. Yashiro had no freedom in this scene and was left to face the hurt he caused. What he did was a monumental display of hypocrisy that I could personally never look past.
Now I'm not saying that this is a bad scene, quite the opposite. It's one of the best scenes in this story, but it hurt Hanako's credibility as a person for me, as I think he's arguably the least reliable person in this entire narrative. The dude is a professional flip-flopper as he can't commit to the choices that he himself made. Worst of all, he hates himself too much to want to even try anything, as he uses any of his failings to fuel his self-contempt so he can do anything, hurt anyone, while also ending up being massively hurt.
I know this is a very weird rant, but I was curious to see if anyone else thought the same thing lol

Discussion This speech of Teru's comes true, but not in the way he expects and the connection of that to how Teru views Akane (spoilers for chapter 127 of Tbhk)(Spoilers for chapter 6 of Ashk) Spoiler
In chapter 117, Teru says, “If we let it happen once……it might repeat again, and then again. This wonderful world we’re in will be lost, just like that. And the Clock Keepers are the ones who get to decide." The background of the page Teru says this on depicts Kako and Mirai tipping a plate with Akane, Nene, and Teru on it. The implication is if the new timeline were to change to a third timeline instead of the original one, it would be due to Kako and Mirai's intervention.
Yet, that does not happen. In fact, Kako rejects Nene's pleas to change the timeline due to his belief that the world of the new timeline is good and therefore should not be changed (chapter 125). The one who ends up actually changing the new timeline first is Nene (chapter 126). Then in chapter 127, Akane sends Nene go back in time to change the timeline in a much bigger way with a bigger butterfly effect via directing her to stop the Clock Keepers from making the changes that created the new timeline. Yet, Akane does not plan on the reversion to the original timeline being the final timeline change. He plans on creating a third timeline: "If we do manage to change the world back to the way it was......and the school festival disaster comes up again......we might end up having to repeat this whole cycle. I have to jump back to a different time so I can stop that from happening," (chapter 127).
This shows the faults in Teru's logic. While Teru could not have reasonably predicted Nene's role in changing the timeline, he very much should have predicted Akane's role. Teru sees Akane rush out and temporarily decide to change a good timeline because of Aoi's engagement (chapter 114). Yet, when thinking about who he fears changing a good timeline, Akane shows up in a sympathetic role rather than an oppressive one. This is related to a consistent problem in how Teru thinks about Akane.
While Teru may claim he only treats Akane poorly because Akane is a supernatural (chapter 6 of After-school Hanako-kun), the truth is a more complicated. When Akane is a normal human during the severance, Teru still treats him worse than other humans. Teru hoists tons of stuffed animals on an annoyed Akane, while giving Nene a much more manageable amount (chapter 72). Teru asks Nene what drink she wants before ordering, but he does not do the same for Akane and orders Akane’s drinks without asking him first (chapter 72). Teru has become accustomed to using Akane as his punching bag to the point where he ignores why he likes to use Akane as a punching bag in the first place. This happens because Teru does not functionally see Akane as a supernatural.
In chapter 108, Teru says, “To me, the Clock Keepers are harmful supernaturals just like the rest. So I hate the idea of helping them.” Yet, Teru takes time out of his exorcising to help Akane out in chapter 70. Teru is disappointed with Akane in chapter 112 because Akane sides with other supernaturals and acts as one in chapter 108. Teru would not be disappointed if another supernatural acted as a supernatural because disappointment comes from the shattering of positive expectations. Teru does not typically have those positive expectations with supernaturals: “Supernaturals will always be a danger to the living. There is no such thing as a ‘good supernatural,’” (chapter 9). The reason why Teru functionally ignores Akane being a supernatural is because Teru struggles with the inbetween of Akane’s identity as both a human and a supernatural.
In chapter 112, Teru says that he needs to figure out if he should deal with Akane as a supernatural or as a human. Teru does not have space in his mind for the gray area that is Akane and he refuses to make space for it. When treating Akane as just a functionally human punching bag with useful powers fails, Teru considers the other extreme instead of deciding to treat Akane based on Akane’s actual situation, which does not fit neatly into either category. Teru ends up defaulting back to treating Akane as a functionally human punching bag with useful powers in the end as the background of his speech about the Clock Keepers changing the timeline demonstrates (chapter 117). This is because Teru genuinely likes Akane, and so would not want to treat Akane as a supernatural as doing so would force Teru’s friendship with Akane to break. Yet, for Teru to avoid another chapter 108 with Akane, he will need to actually consider what Akane’s position is instead of defaulting to categorizing Akane as either human or supernatural.

Discussion The mermaid scales???
So i speed ran tf out of the anime and manga in less then 2 days and my brain is spinning with ideas and theories and one thing I keep going back to is the mermaid scales and how Hanako said that Yashiro and Hanako fated are now tied together and now connected by an extremely powerful bond because they both swallowed them. And then poof. Gone. Never addressed again about the implications of this??? The mermaid scales being somewhat relevant only shows up one more time and that's in chapters 16 and 17 and that's barely anything, just an attempted kidnapping.
I just can't shake the idea that these mermaid scales and Hanako and Yashiros fates being tied together is gonna play a massive role endgame and that there's no way this is just a throw away plot device.
Am I just waaaay over thinking it or is something off about the whole thing? My brain literally will not stop thinking about these fucking mermaid scales 😂😂

Discussion And the one time Aoi glazes Akane [random chapter 84 analysis]
People talk about all the times Akane glazes Aoi, so I wanted to mention the one time Aoi glazes Akane.
Particularly, when Aoi’s taking to Hanako about what she likes about Akane. In my officially translated volume, she says that he’s “too nice”.
Personally, I like Akane. I think there he has many good qualities that Aoi could have praised in that moment. She could have said that he was honest, or brave, or loyal. She does mention that he’s hardworking, but ends the conversation by saying that he’s too nice.
Like I said, I like Akane, but I wouldn’t describe him as being “too nice”. He has had many good moments, but is very rude and inconsiderate towards others. Even Akane himself admits that he doesn’t consider himself a nice person. Aoi knows him well enough to understand this—but chooses to call him nice anyway.
I don’t have a huge reason for pointing this out, other than to appreciate how Akaoi mirror each other. While Akane idealizes Aoi on a regular basis, she also idealizes him. In that moment with Hanako, she was sharing her honest feelings—and she saw an idealized version of the boy she loves.
Well, thanks for listening to my random and unnecessary analysis. Hananene is my lifeblood, but I want to take more time to appreciate Akaoi, as my second-favorite ship.

Original Content TBHK/JSHK FANS, ASSEMBLE !!!
Sorry for the dramatic title lmao. One year ago now, i've launched what was the first 100 % fully focused english speaking weekly TBHK Youtube channel, mainly centered around making long format videos, after asking on the Reddit if people actually wanted one !
One year later, i'm close to 5 K Subs, many of you being one, and i don't intend to stop here ! As some of you may now, the original main goal if this channel, was to create one big massive hub for TBHK fans, which are often very spread out from each others on differents communities ! We aren't a nich community (the numbers speak for themselves) but it's often very hard to find one another, even in online circles !
So i wanted to talk about that in more details (also make a few annoucement for my channel which can be important if you rely on my clips to make edits and so on), and i also need your help to find me TBHK content creators that you already know and like, so i can either make a collab with them, or included them in my new "TBHK Content Creator of the Week" series where i will be pretty much making free publicity for them, in hopes that this help bring the community and it's creators closer together. ^^
Thoses creators can be anything : fan art artists, Youtubers, people on Tumblr, the Reddit (which i know less than before theses days), people making edits, theories, etc !
So do feel free to tell me, with the anticipating pleasure of seeing you all very soon ! ^^

Discussion Kako and Mirai’s dangerous recruitment method is less about manipulation and more about the fact nobody could see them otherwise (spoilers for chapter 96) Spoiler
Before Akane was recruited, he couldn’t see supernaturals (chapter 29). Akane was only able to see supernaturals when he was placed in a situation where he would die due to him being about to take the hit for Aoi. Akane does not die, but only because time stops (chapter 25). Once this occurs, he is able to see Kako and Mirai, who only then, can actually try to recruit him.
This can be seen with Aoi too. She is able to see supernaturals when Hakubo sets his sights on her (chapter 61). This changes Aoi’s fate to one where she should die. Then later on, even though Aoi’s fate reverts back (chapter 95), she is still able to see supernaturals (chapter 96). This is what happened with Akane too.
