"Lets shit on Elyse's favorite indie games" is my favorite Funhaus series!

"Let's ALL shit on Lawrence's favorite obscure games" is a favorite of mine

Honestly I'd love to see another Dogelrax or whatever it was called, that game was a really odd intersection of weird Lawrence stuff, surprising gameplay/story and challenging difficulty that everyone seemed to get genuinely invested in.

Girl, you can name your pets anyyything.
dog:lion.
horse:leon.
You know, it's not actually the Bubonic Plague unless you contract it in the famed Bubon region of France. That plague you got is probably just a regular old Lymphatic Bacterial Infection. Plebeian
Oh, wow.

Crazy to think that these are the events that started the plague which would eventually lead to Benson's lupus.

Finally got to see the return of the barrel salesman from Dark Messiah. Seems like he's finally moving up in the world.

The look of dissapointment on Elyse when James made the rag joke was great

Do you ever get offended by some of the jokes the guys make? My gf seems to think they take it too far even though they’re obviously joking.

u/FH_Elyse Elyse Willems May 25 '19
I make some pretty fucking ripe jokes too.

I'll never forget your "All we have to look up to are those fat pigs at Disney" joke
and "I support man's right to shut the fuck up"

Hi Elyse random question here. Do you ever feel bad for some of the darker jokes you've made. Like making fun of american mcgee's sister going missing or making fun of dead people. If so how do you move past the guilt of a darker joke.

u/PhantomBear_626 Jun 02 '19
Why are you spamming her so much?
1
u/jonstark24 Jun 03 '19
Because mercy covington is my cousin and i don't think them making fun of her disappearance is funny.
3
u/PhantomBear_626 Jun 03 '19
Im sorry about your cousin.
Comedy is going to go to places that make us uncomfortable. I think its perfectly fine to tell people that it makes you uncomfortable and that you don't find it funny.
I also think there is a better way to try and get that point across than to try to shame someone.

u/jonstark24 Jun 03 '19
So people shouldn't feel shame for saying horrible things.

When my SO first attempted to introduce me to funhaus I was pretty appalled at what I heard them say (this was pre-Elyse). He’d watched them through our tv before bed at night while I looked at phone and I would hear some things that made me chuckle but I still refused to watch them. Then I was in the room when this question was asked on Open Haus and I immediately paid attention to hear the answer. Bruce asked Elyse to answer it and her response started a change in how I viewed the content. I felt more comfortable when I heard the stuff that was flying out of the boys’ and after another month or so I was pretty adamant about us watching FH videos before bed.
Now close to 4 years later, watching FH is a part of our nightly routine. The only time we don’t watch what was posted earlier in the day is if we are very sick or so tired that we are unable to stay awake while watching. And then the next night we catch up.
Honestly it’s brought he and I closer together. It’s something we make sure we do together every night. And now we have loads and loads of great memories from that. When we eat dinner we have FHTV on. Same for when we are cooking or cleaning. It’s something that we share and I feel like my sense of humor has become all the better for it.
And I don’t know if she’s noticed that when their bits get really wacky they frequently look like they know what they just said is just the most outlandish thing. Elyse frequently has some of the spiciest jokes in a video.
I know this was long-winded but I think it’s important for me to share how my relationship with the channel evolved when something like this comes up.
*Edited because I’m bad at reddit on mobile

I'm liking all of Elyse's new accents.
First Danish, now French, what will we get next?

I really liked how invested Elyse seemed to be in the game. I'm all for the comedy bits but I wouldnt mind a proper playthrough by her. :) Looks like a decent game to be fair.

u/packit87 May 25 '19
I believe she mentioned the other day she would probably love to play it by herself
13
u/DrimSWE May 25 '19
I know she and James do livestreams, maybe we get to see it there one day.

u/packit87 May 25 '19
I doubt it but I hope they do layers of fear 2 since they streamed the first one

Romance languages

u/DarkShades May 26 '19
Fun fact that no one gives a fuck about. They're called romance languages, because they come from Latin, the language of Rome. It has nothing to do with love.

Interesting choice by putting a Part 3 in the thumbnail. I know it's for the Last of Us thing, but still

How does Elyse keeps finding these niche / cool games?
(This is not a sarcastic comment btw. I thought it was a cool game)

u/packit87 May 25 '19
It’s actually a game that a lot of people know about lots of youtubers and steamers have been playing it

u/Baner87 May 25 '19
She plays a lot of indie, story based games, often with puzzle elements; this is right up her alley.

This totally needs to be a full play through with Elyse behind the mouse. This is an amazing video.

I love these folks and their ability to make comedy out of stuff you wouldn't think could the basis of being funny. Like, looking at this game... how could that be funny? And yet I was cracking up the whole time. Great video from Elyse, Adam, Bruce, and James (like always!)

Some have called her a master sleuth, others impression artist, professional muppetist, or indie aficionado. Elyse Willems: collector of a thousand talents and a million views.

Lol it will take a year or more for this to hit a million views if it even does what’s the last gameplay vid to hit a million views

I like how the relevant video they put in the outro was that dumb Viking's Daughter porno game.
These 2 games are equal.

If your only metric is the protagonist has to look after a young family member, then I guess. By almost any other metric, it's kind of amazing how wrong this take is.

Didn't expect a video for a game like this to be this hilarious.
To 1 million views we go.
