Jinhao 82 in Berry Guava Fig—or, the prettiest pen I’ve ever seen

If any of you saw my post about my Jinhao 80 yesterday and wondered why I cared so much about whether I could make the nib better, this is why. I want to use this pen forever and ever for everything.

Luckily, I dip tested it earlier and it seems to feather a lot less than the Jinhao 80–definitely feels really nice to write with and the lines pretty. Maybe I’ll do a sample again when my other Jinhao 82 arrives and I’ll see if any of my inks are considered “drier” so I can test them together. I don’t love writing with this but I like it well enough, so that’s a win. Hopefully with a drier ink I will be upgraded from like to love fingers crossed

Anyway, this was ¥33 on Taobao which is less than $5 USD. One of the better $5 I’ve spent in my life I think.

these are so so pretty!! I'm on a mission to get all the Jinhao Century I like which is like ten I think. Currently waiting for taobao to deliver some to Superbuy so they can start the pilgrimage to the UK!

oh that's so kind of you! they have everything in the warehouse at Superbuy except two that are already on the way from taobao. I'm sure if you bring Chinese inks that are hard or very expensive here (like kitty inkpot, shanhai laboratory, starry ink, etc) people would buy them on vinted! in this order I am making I was thinking of selling some samples from the kitty ink pot inks I ordered since they are so cheap in china but here it's four times the price. I don't think you can sell stuff on this sub though, but pen swap exist for that

how does SB ship inks? is it by sea only? i’ve been hesitant about pulling the trigger

edit - i don’t use SB but somewhere comparable and haven’t attempted to order inks yet lol

i don’t see your reply on here, just my notifications- but no, nothing tied to tb. i work w two warehouses where it is basically a person w a wechat that sends me pics and another that is a little more upgraded. they all have somewhat mixed feedback - all ‘yes,’ but w two of them - a bit harder to get how they want to do it. i usually go by their recommendations. i basically was told it was more expensive by one, and the others just said ‘yes’ - so i was just curious how SB did it.

I just got my first Jinhao 82s this weekend and I am absolutely tickled by the colors and then the first one I inked up wrote like a champ! This is bad because they are very inexpensive, and I will absolutely have trouble not buying sooooo many.

so cute! I love all the different colours you can get with the jinhao 82s. and I've been very fortunate that I only got one scratchy nib out of the probably 8 or so of them I've bought.
