Updated Fort Lauderdale Unemployment Figures | released June 03, 2026
Official unemployment figures for the Fort Lauderdale economy were updated today. Numbers for March have been finalized and preliminary figures for April have now been made available.
March
The unemployment rate fell to 4.2% in March. 495 positions were lost, but 4,114 workers exiting the labor force caused the unemployment rate to decrease. The overall Nonfarm Payrolls figure did not change significantly. No individual sector saw significant employment changes.
April (preliminary)
The unemployment rate increased to 4.4% in April. 776 positions were lost, and 857 workers entered the labor force causing the unemployment rate increase. The overall Nonfarm Payrolls figure did not change significantly. No individual sector saw significant employment changes.

Neato. Construction seems to be picking up and white collar seems to be contracting. Seems about right with the state of things.
Inflation keeps on going up.. wonder what could be driving that..
