How long did you workout for?
I’m 29+1 today and wondering how long everyone managed to continue a workout routine. I kept my normal 5ish day a week gym routine with lots of walking up until 20 weeks. I started having a ton of Braxton hicks then and was terrified of preterm labor so I basically totally rested outside of like walks for 2 weeks and then started mostly doing light weighted Pilates and walking. The last 3ish weeks I’ve been back to more structured workouts (usually madfit on YouTube) with my bands, ankle weights, and #5 and #10 dumbbells. I’m actually feeling really great right now so I’m wondering how long I can keep this up for!

That’s amazing! I am 15 and looked at my husband while we were running and said idk if I can do this much longer. I feel like my pelvic floor cannot handle running unfortunately

It’s been an up and down journey! Around 15 my pelvic bones started hurting on runs and then I began doing child’s pose every night for 5 mins and it helped a ton

Amazing!! I have never been a runner but could not imagine running at that stage without peeing my pants lol.

39 weeks was when my body finally gave me signs it was time to stop. By then I felt heavy and tired and just wanted to rest until baby arrived. From 39 to deliver at 40+5, my only exercise was the Miles circuit.

This is me right now. 38 weeks is when it started to give me signs and now in the 39th week I’m simply out of energy.

With the last one I have a training sessions recorded the day before I went into labor. 32 weeks currently and planning for the same. I do feel like I've been having more Braxton hicks type contractions this go around but I'm chalking it up to the heat.

28 weeks and have been doing F45 the whole time, slowly modifying as I went (i.e. stopped most ab workouts immediately, stopped burpees about a month ago).
I plan to keep going until I give birth! My gym friend did the same and was booked for a class on her delivery date, and she's a doctor.
Edit to add: I suspect to be out of the gym for 3-6 weeks after giving birth, so I want to avoid any additional weeks out on top of that by working out as close to my due date as possible.

34 weeks and still doing Solidcore weekly. I did trim down to 1 class a week the past couple weeks. Sometimes I need sleep instead of activity and I’m a 5 am class goer.

I am 35 weeks and do Pure Barre 6 days a week and walk 3 miles a day on the treadmill, I’ve been able to keep this up my whole pregnancy. Hoping to do so until the day I give birth.

I was going to reformer Pilates until I was 39 weeks and the studio owner & the teachers I was seeing were shocked I was there every time. Honestly at the end it was mostly just modifying/showing up for some sort of movement because I was too huge to comfortably do anything else….even walking hurt by the end!!!

I went till about 38 weeks last time. I just got way too exhausted so I knew it was time to rest. We shall see what happens now I am currently 30ish weeks

Last workout was the day before birth. Switch from running to elliptical at 37 weeks when it was just getting silly. I didn’t expect to be able to workout for this long but happy I could. Best of luck, do what’s right for you!

38 weeks 2 days was my last lifting session. Still walking but no other workouts, too much to do and not enough energy 😬

I want to go for as long as possible. I’m 34 weeks now and I think I will stop spinning soon since I feel like it’s getting more and more annoying with always having to stop to use the the toilet. But I will try to continue with strength, barre, and yoga classes until as close to my due date as possible, unless my body really starts revolting.

I was the same. Wanted to get as close to due date as possible. Unfortunately my body did start to revolt around the 38th week. Pilates was completely out. Running was out for me around 16 weeks. As of now, I could probably still lift comfortably, but I just simply don’t have the energy for workouts and the other house work I have to do. I’m 39+4 today 😮💨. Hope you get closer to due date than I did!

I’m 39 + 1 and getting induced tomorrow. Had my last workout of spin class and light upper body weights today! I would say you’re doing great listening to your body as I don’t think there is a formula. I did lagree, reformer Pilates, spin, long walks and light weight training most of my pregnancy and am very grateful I have been able to do so. But there were times like you were I backed off a bit too.

I’m 35 weeks today and have luckily kept the same lifting routine 4/5 days a week. My steps, HOWEVER, have def taken a dip. I was 10-12k a day literally until recently. MY FEET HURT. They are so swollen and just ache all day everyday 🥲🥲🥲

Both pregnancies I went past 40 weeks! I worked out until the days I went into labor. I’m on #3 now and per usual, first trimester has been horrible, not a single workout to be had, but I can’t wait to get back into it!

I was doing light strength + walking until 38–39 weeks, just scaled way down in intensity and avoided anything that spiked my heart rate too much.

I was at the gym the day I went into labor at 40 + 3. I was having contractions on the treadmill, but I was in denial that it was the real thing😅 Other than occasional illness during pregnancy, I made sure to go 5/6 days a week, mixing strength training with cardio. Honestly, a lot of my consistency stemmed from needing me time. I’m a SAHM and my gym has childcare for my 2.5 year old. I definitely hit the “I’m over this” stage at 38 weeks, but I kept with it, knowing I wouldn’t be able to once baby came. I do think being so active helped with labor and delivery.

1st pregnancy until 39w4d, baby came at 40w
2nd pregnancy until 33w, because he gave me a kidney infection and kidney stones that hospitalized me 2x between 32w and 36w, baby came 40w
3rd and current pregnancy, 27w1d, still going strong, plan to keep lifting until due date if this baby let's me lol

In my first pregnancy I was still doing cardio until about 36 weeks (mostly incline treadmill walking). Then I went on maternity leave and became a slob, regrettably. I'm 11 weeks now and plan to go for as long as I can as it helps with my MH so much. I run and lift weights now. Aware things will have to be moderated as I go on (I did a 5k this morning and is already a little more difficult, felt hotter, needed to take some walking breaks etc), but being active keeps me sane.

34 weeks and still doing Orangetheory 2x a week. If I stop then it’s SO over so I’m pushing myself to at least attend.
Everything hurts 😭
