My mom once went to a Brooklyn house party and Brooklyn born Veronica Lake was there. Imagine it must’ve been a hip gathering.

Some great ones here I haven’t seen! Super excited and grateful TCM Noir Alley exists!

These are great! Thanks for sharing. Adding to my "Noir" movie poster screensaver folder!

And I know it's not quite June yet, and it's not on Noir Alley per se, but TCM is showing "Detour" today. One of my favorite noirs.

Looks like a terrific lineup! I've only seen The Blue Dahlia out of the bunch but it looks like every one has something to offer!

re: Blackout

I was just looking at another Belinda Lee noir (I think), Ce Corps Tant Desire, trying to find subtitles for it. She was absolutely stunning.

re: The Man I Love

I also just happened to be listening to a podcast recommending Road House (1948) as an underseen noir, and in it they made a point to say that Ida Lupino sings but was perhaps not a singer. So funny to be seeing in this as a night club singer. Was she dubbed in this? Either way, just the director and the star are enough to check it out, and what you can see on IMDb makes it look awesome.

re: Stolen Face

Oh, how mixed up my feelings about Lizabeth Scott are! I watch her performances and think "oh here she goes again over exaggerating" but I do find her compelling at the same time. Seeing that her iconic voice is dubbed gives me pause, but plastic surgery noirs/movies are so compelling, I'm very interested to check it out. Thank you for sharing!

Without the Blue there would be no Black (Dahlia)

Blue Dahlia and Stolen Face are gems.
