We've been there for decades

For young or otherwise unknowing readers, notice that the comment says "Trump casino," and this is an important distinction.Ā  Normal casinos make money (by messing with credulous people at the edges of their understanding of probability... Not a goodĀ  thing in the first place, but it makes money. It's practically a license to print money.). When Trump owned a casino though, he has screwed up the formula and he would lose money. Or he was just doing money laundering or something.

TOO BUSY PUTTING HIS PIECE OF SHIT NAME ON EVERYTHING….

40

u/seriousbangs 1d ago

He's also gearing up to give Iran $300 billion of your taxpayer money to pay for the damage he did in the war.

13

u/NetZeroSun 1d ago edited 1d ago

I didnt hear about that...but I can imagine finding the extra funding for that 1.5 trillion budget for the military...Japan selling treasuries and screwing with the bond market ...

...now trump's attention is back on the gold in the US reserve...that's not going to end well at all (assuming its not already stolen).

Meanwhile republicans in congress say "What me worry".

I think the 300 billion to Iran is going to be just a bullet point in a long list of things that caused the US to economically collapse.

(you know something, something, ...we warned people about trump but they still voted for him anyways).

6

u/seriousbangs 1d ago

It leaked.

The interesting thing is going to be how they hide it from the public

I'm guessing they'll launder the money through Europe and rely on the news media to cover that up.

It's also possible Trump won't be able to keep a lid on it and the deal will fall through.

The problem with that $300bn, aside from everything, is the GOP voters will freak out hearing that.

But we need to end this war. Trump fucked up. Badly. He thought he could get a terrorist attack out of it, like a 2nd 9/11, and use that for an invasion.

Iran didn't take the bait, so now Trump has a closed straight.

u/Ill_Translator7545 19h ago

I think it will be an investment / rebuild fund of the kind that he imagined the bored of peace was going to use to build monuments to trump in Gaza. It will be described as a great deal. Idiots will believe it.

2

u/seriousbangs 13h ago

You can do that with Gaza because The people of Palestine have no agency or power.

Iran is in control here. Their ability to close the straight and America's unwillingness to do a full scale boots on the ground war means they won, we lost.

u/leftofmarx 1d ago

That's a lot more pallets of cash than Obama

23

u/Possible_Beautiful63 1d ago

And the World Cup is about to start. That’s very bad.
Usually, WC visitors come a week earlier than the initial game starts, which will be June 11.

I wonder if someone can pull the same stats for Mexico and Canada.

8

u/vibraltu 1d ago

I think initially there was a lot of excitement for The World Cup in Toronto, I know that we have many very passionate fans here for various teams. But... I would say that enthusiasm has been dampened by a combination of over-priced tickets and low-stakes matches scheduled for this location.

5

u/Old_Kaleidoscope867 1d ago

Heard here in Houston they are not going to get the amount of tourists coming for the World šŸŒŽ Cup soccer āš½ļø matches here terrible šŸ˜ž

5

u/leftofmarx 1d ago

If they come a week earlier they risk being detained and put in a concentration camp by ICE before getting to see any matches.

2

u/Ill_Translator7545 19h ago

Especially if they don’t speak American and have dark skin. Like most World Cup fans

8

u/asimovs 1d ago

As an European I was already hesitant about visiting the USA with all the gun violence/school shootings/crime/homeless, but trump/ice sealed the deal at least until things change, would love to see the grand canyon, Yellowstone and the redwoods etc

2

u/TargetFree3831 13h ago

dude youll never see any of those problems there - come visit those places, youll be fine. the media sensationalizes all of it.

dont forget how big the US is.

44

u/Lower-Savings-794 1d ago

How anyone thought this would go any other way is delusional.

12

u/bogglingsnog 1d ago

some people just keep eating the red berries

8

u/darkapplepolisher 1d ago

Pretty sure it's intentional for many. Hatred for immigrants extending into hatred for tourists not a large jump.

9

u/Lower-Savings-794 1d ago

He hates poor people. Color matters, but not as much as the commas in your bank account.

2

u/zed857 1d ago

I think when this was set up they thought there was zero chance that Trump and his collection of right wing nut jobs would be in power when it actually happened.

12

u/roytwo 1d ago

I am trying to avoid Trump's America but I live here

8

u/beavis617 1d ago

Been waiting quite a while now for the media to do some reporting on the hit the tourism industry has taken because of Trump, it looks like some have taken notice, finally!

12

u/DJMagicHandz 1d ago

So much winning in Florida.

11

u/FaithfulDowter 1d ago

The damage this man has done to the country is overwhelming, and he’s not done. He’s a bull in a china shop, and the people who have the power and authority to dart the bull and drag him out are too afraid to take action.

3

u/NaughtyReplicant 1d ago

They don't want to go up against AIPAC next term. Massie was an example.

21

u/CryptographerHot4636 1d ago

Good, don't come to this ghetto ass country.

20

u/Pure_Bee2281 1d ago

It's a lot worse than that 5.5% decreasem global tourism increased by 4%, so it's a Tually a 9.5% decrease. Damn.

2

u/NaughtyReplicant 1d ago

That's a great point, I never thought of that though I'd add that tourists to the US probably went somewhere else instead so probably a little lower but yeah, that's much more damning.

Next year will be worse.

8

u/Kvynwsly 1d ago

Yes, his personality is toxic.

8

u/Porridge_Mainframe 1d ago

I will not visit the US and Trump is part of the reason. It’s a shame because there are some nice national parks I wanted to hike in. It just seems too dangerous, expensive, and dirty. Crazy that any Americans still believe it’s the greatest county in the world. Outsiders can see it’s gone to shit and most people (Australians) I know feel the same way.

7

u/Old-Ingenuity6528 1d ago

Its funny im starting to see less obesity in california finally noone can eat with $7 a gallon and $5 single fuckin banana so were winning that war

2

u/flawless4813 14h ago

Naw we are losing the war to Ozempic and other GLP1 drugs. Even though they are crazy expensive people find a way.

7

u/mudamuckinjedi 1d ago

Well we do have a person who bankrupted 2 casinos at the wheel and all his buddies backing him at every turn. So it shouldn't be that surprising to anyone. It seems he is trying to do the same with the country, so he is lining his pockets with as much of our money he can get his tiny little hands on. Before he eventually collapses our economy, he's already ruined our national image. We are now the laughing stock of the world.

6

u/freefrompress 1d ago

Wanted to see California. Definitely not going while this crazy orange garbage bag is your president.

3

u/Ill_Translator7545 19h ago

I feel the same way. Though I’ve learnt a lot of US history and will be keen to visit some of the locations where the resistance started / grew against him. Honestly I’m looking forward to it once it’s all over. And if it’s never over I’ve got bigger issues than where to holiday.

7

u/Subject-Big-7352 1d ago

Toxicity on steroids and the world sees it and has reached a verdict…Trumpee MAGA America plainly sucks!

5

u/ChrisMess 1d ago

I’m one of them. Spent every year a few weeks in the US until now. I’ll go again in 2029.

5

u/FarFromHomey 1d ago

Hit em where it hurts. We need a MONTH(s) LONG National Strike or Boycott in America. We the People should Demand reparations for HIS war of Waste and Stupidity.

10

u/will-read 1d ago

ā€œExcluding COVIDā€. Oh, you mean his first term.

1

u/rhino910 1d ago

this is 2025

9

u/QuintonFlynn 1d ago

He was president during covid and in 2025. He was president during two of the biggest tanks in tourism in the last twenty years.

For everyone else reading, who was president in 2006? I’ll give you all a hint, it wasn’t Obama.Ā Bush and Trump sure are great for your economy, eh, ā€œfiscal conservativesā€?

2

u/redonrust 1d ago

This is a Wendy's

5

u/moosemc 1d ago

And with gas prices where they are, this summer will be awful for road trip family vacations too.

3

u/Old_Kaleidoscope867 1d ago

Yes this is like a bad nightmare that keeps getting worse šŸ˜‘

3

u/mingstaHK 1d ago

I have American family and friends i would visit fairly frequently. I would probably be arrested if I went now

-12

u/cmrh42 1d ago

Why? Are you a criminal?

5

u/cbloxham 1d ago

But the old grifter is raking it in, so it's all good. Yay 'Murica

4

u/InnerWrathChild 1d ago

BlasĆ© World Cup and 250 here we come. Can’t believe 2 huge events are coming up and we, and the world, could give a shit.

5

u/Canuck-In-TO 1d ago

Plus, they now want to stop international flights from flying to ā€œSanctuaryā€ cities:

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/may/27/dhs-international-flights-sanctuary-cities

It just gets better and better every day.

5

u/EmuOwn8305 1d ago

Im shocked its only 5.5??? I guess people had already booked their trips and couldnt cancel. I wonder how 26 will look

4

u/Good_kido78 1d ago

He wants the world to sign a non disclosure agreement.

4

u/namotous 1d ago

That’s fine, Americans made so much money from tariffs, so they can afford to vacation more within the Us, right? /s

5

u/Ill_Consequence3123 1d ago

He damaged the brand that is America šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø. The worst marketing strategy ever.

6

u/gman-101010 1d ago

Domestic tourism too. I had a vacation planned to Las Vegas for the family, would have dropped a couple of thousand. But with Trump in charge I'm taking the family to Cabo instead.

4

u/Old_Kaleidoscope867 1d ago

Great choice heard Las Vegas is not getting those big spenders coming there from overseas now Rich šŸ¤‘ people šŸ’°šŸ˜ŗ

0

u/darkapplepolisher 1d ago

Decreased tourists should be an opportunity for cheaper prices due to reduced demand.

3

u/thisthatandtheother4 1d ago

Well at this point some might just be calling it ā€˜MERICA!

3

u/RaDeus 1d ago

Why visit a country that requires you to splay open everything just to get in?

DNA, retina scans, your work email etc.

I think I’d rather visit a country that welcomes you and just stamps your passport.

3

u/thenumbwalker 1d ago

He’s such an evil loser

2

u/CombatCarlsHand 1d ago

This is an almost 6% decrease

2

u/dreevsa 1d ago

Loser

2

u/rbuckfly 1d ago

Taco is a big loser

2

u/snowmanu812 1d ago

Well well people are finally waking up, trump is not a negotiator, or a builder and not a smart person. He is a top world bankrupter and he making the world pay for his difficulty to obtain loans during his oodles of bankruptcies. He hates the US and Europe

2

u/MAHANC 1d ago

His base will rationalize it, call it fake news, or lord knows what

2

u/FaithfulDowter 1d ago

The damage this man has done to the country is overwhelming, and he’s not done. He’s a bull in a china shop, and the people who have the power and authority to dart the bull and drag him out are too afraid to act.

1

u/maga235 1d ago

the stench is quite effusive. oops cant blame it on ANY predecessor.

1

u/Low_Elk7794 1d ago

Everything he’s doing is to benefit the elite, not middle class or low income people. All for what? Just to be undone in 2.5 years

1

u/SoRaffy 1d ago

Maga is just a slogan they don't actually care about making it greatĀ

1

u/Nutmegger27 1d ago

He is a seething pool of insecurity, avarice and hatred -- abetted by other radical ideologues like Stephen Miller and Pete Hegseth.

1

u/bstillab 1d ago

I’d say it’s probably more to do with inflation and how much it cost to do anything here. We even vacation somewhere else to take advantage of the 3rd world counties.

1

u/candobetter2 1d ago

Very sad and very tragic for the economy and the American people I guess it's time to retire somewhere else or the value of the dollar matters and there's no Republican recession every 4 years

1

u/Ok_Camp_7051 1d ago

We’re all in this boat together while he keeps shooting holes into it knowing that he’ll just move on to his next lifeboat when the waves start to crest.Ā

1

u/leftofmarx 1d ago

No worries, ICE will "deport" enough people to concentration camps inside the USA to make up for at least $8 billion in economic activity to rich Republican concentration camp owners.

1

u/TheTonyExpress 1d ago

I honestly thought it would be way more.

1

u/Brilliant-Ad-5235 21h ago

La prossima volta votate meglio

1

u/ChinookKing 21h ago

Americans voted for this piece of shit idiot.Ā Ā

1

u/Ill_Translator7545 19h ago

I had planned on visiting bringing my family if 6. We’n be visiting Asia instead. In fairness it was a toss up but we opted to go somewhere stable and reliable - we also didn’t want to support a criminal regime.

1

u/AffectionateAlfalfa4 19h ago

As previously a freqyebt traveller to the US as were many friends, most stopped wanting to go there before trump came in, it was when LA, SanFran and NY become dumpsters we stopped coming

1

u/Special-Performance8 18h ago

You will never threaten our Greenlandic friends again. For shame.Ā

1

u/Orion-999 17h ago

Gee , I wonder why

1

u/PolarBurrito 6h ago

Not even a 6% drop? What the hell, the world can’t even boycott the US effectively…

1

u/Plane_Restaurant_486 1h ago

That would actually be the left wing fearmingering media. I was just in SC and had a blast. People were awesome. If you believe mainstream media you're an idiot.

1

u/GlobalRails 1d ago

Fraying relationships in order to bring manufacturing back home.

0

u/13hockeyguy 1d ago

That’s dumb because we don’t live in ā€œTrump’s America,ā€ we live in ā€œNetanyahu’s America.ā€ Trump is just the current branding.

0

u/true4blue 1d ago

I doubt people who made travel plans based on their personal feelings towards Trump can afford to fly to the US

-4

u/amazonwarrior9999 1d ago

As much as the story is wrong it's still Trumps fault. War in Iran has spiked the price of international travel.

2

u/htmaxpower 1d ago

That and Trump LOUDLY telling the world we hate all of them, which came long before Trump’s war. It’s Trump’s war on non-Americans.

-3

u/ThePaleHorse50 1d ago

🄲 why don't you cry about it sister

-10

u/No_Papaya_3714 1d ago

Those weren’t tourists before they came and stayed .

1

u/htmaxpower 1d ago

Sorry, you tried!

-10

u/sampris 1d ago

If you ask me as turist... Problem is not Donald Trump. Sick mental people and the usual suspects are.

2

u/SargeantSasquatch 1d ago

Glad to hear from 0.00000025% of the lost tourists!

-1

u/sampris 1d ago

If you don't care about turist why post it?

1

u/GhostWrex 1d ago

Good thing we didnt ask you, turist

2

u/computers-are-gay 1d ago

I also appreciate the work of Alan Turing

1

u/htmaxpower 1d ago

Gesundheit

-4

u/cmrh42 1d ago

You’ll remain down voted but you’re actually right. Lefties have spent years screaming that half of the U.S. is racist, misogynistic nut bags that shoot up schools for pleasure. While 95% of tourists know that’s not true it would be surprising if it did not dissuade some people from traveling.

2

u/GhostWrex 1d ago

Nobody except the absolute extremes says that half the US are those things.

-3

u/cmrh42 1d ago

True, and likely the reason the drop is minor. Unfortunately though, the absolute extremes (on both sides) are larger and louder than ever.

-11

u/AppropriateAd3340 1d ago

None of those were tourists, they were illegals, plus none of that money actually went into anything to help american citizens.

1

u/htmaxpower 1d ago

Tell your programmer it’s time to get a new message. This one is sad and tired.
