Line lock button placement help
I installed a line lock on my project car and now the whole burnout process seems weird and complicated. The button is on the right side of the steering wheel so now Im holding that instead of having my hand on the shifter (it's a manual).
Where do you guys have your activation button?

My 15-year-old son's junior drag racing journey – aiming for the Top 10 this season
Hi everyone,
I wanted to share my son George's story.
George is 15 years old and competes in the UK Junior Drag Bike Championship with Team 1/8th Outlaws, riding a Yamaha 125.
Last season was his first full season in the championship and he finished 11th overall. This year his goal is to break into the Top 10 and hopefully make his first final.
Over the winter we've spent countless hours working on the bike and preparing for the season ahead. We've made a number of improvements, including fitting a new shift light to help him get the most out of the bike.
Our first event of the season is the Sportsman Nationals in June and George is determined to hit the ground running.
Like most grassroots motorsport, the costs add up quickly with entry fees, fuel, maintenance, tyres, safety equipment and travel. We've set up a GoFundMe to help support George's racing journey this season.
If anyone would like to support him, no matter how small the contribution, we'd be incredibly grateful:
gofund.me/3bde92dd1
We've also put together a short video of George racing so people can see what junior drag bike racing is all about.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and best of luck to everyone competing this season.

More general questions from Germany about things seen on Frank Morgan Jrs metallic blue (196...8?) Camaro.
Guys, I didn't want to get into this too deeply, but I am on Vitage Dragster porn trip and almost every single run I watch makes me more curious.
So this is something seen on a specific car, but might be general:
A one year old video of "Time Machine Nationals" where above driver pulls up, burns out and then sprays the windshield clean!
How many cars do have that? Is it used whilst running? I mean, if it would only be used pre run, a helper could give it a quick wipe...
And it can only clean off rather dry debris, right, otherwise it would need wipers?
And: is he winding the side window down or up before running?
Thank you!

Correlation between license plate, street legality, race class and use on road of vintage dragsters
Maybe somebody can give me a rough overview as American state laws are even more confusing to a German than dragster rules. Well, almost... :
1- does the lack of a license plate mean the car could not be road legal?
2 - do some classes have legal/non legal cars only?
3 - can somebody give an idea of whether, where and how road legal cars are driven off track, like to meetings or maybe even for a drive through town?
Thank you!

Devices @ NHRA events
Today I went to my first NHRA event in Maryland and absolutely loved it. between each run, there were crew members taking measurements. One was to determine stickiness/grip, another had hand held temp guns. another had this box that was placed on the track. To describe what it looks like, if you remember the little trap box used when ghostbusters would capture ghost in. :)
It’s about the size of a shoebox, looks like a ipad and something written on paper each time the box was placed on the track for several seconds.
infrared or super fancy temp readers?
thanks!

I made this street race by hand (NO AI) using a BMW E30 model car and hand built miniature sets.
This is a stop motion animation (no AI)
It was made by photographing every single image frame by frame to create the animation. It took 4000+ individual photos to animate this race between a customized BMW E30 vs Drift King.
It takes 15 photos to make 1 sec of animation. This is a full race, and it took months to complete this project.
The series is called Streets of Vagabonds. This is Episode 7. Hope you guys enjoy it. Let me know if any questions.

Drag-And-Drive Trailers Explained
Since we're building a drag-and-drive car at Dragzine right now, I figured it would be a good time to learn what a good drag-and-drive trailer needs.

Suggestions for a relatively new fan?
I have been a fan of various forms of motorsports for a long time, but I just got into watching / following drag racing pretty recently. I’ve been watching NHRA, IHRA, and PDRA, and I actually really enjoy the door slammer classes. Are there any other series or individual races I should check out? I really enjoyed TX2K, as it was really cool to see such a wide variety of cars there, including the imports. Is there any kind of website or resource that consolidates all of these racing series together into a single schedule / calendar to make it easier to keep up with everything?

I Get Why People Are Skeptical of Darryl Cuttell's IHRA Ownership and Purchasing of Tracks
There was a post here yesterday on the IHRA buying Maple Grove that some were skeptical of the real reasons behind it. There was a post on r/nhra a few months ago that an argument broke out on whether or not Darryl Cuttel is being honest in his pursuits of buying the IHRA or is he working with Elon. At the time, the only evidence of an Elon connection was that, at PRI IHRA employees had Elon's xAI logo on the official IHRA jackets. Many dismissed this as just a sponsor as racing series always have sponsors (like NHRA used to have Winston, Poweraide, Full Throttle, etc).
However, of all people to be the main sponsor of a racing series, especially drag racing, Elon seems to most unlikely and the weirdest choice. The guy who literally owns Tesla and probably hates muscle cars is going to sponsor a drag racing series just because? It seems too small scale for Elon and really random. If Elon had used xAI for an NHL/NBA arena, I would buy that. Or for a Football stadium. But being the title sponsor of a drag racing series? Seems weird.
Furthermore, Darryl Cuttell is the CEO of Darana Hybrid Electro-Mechanical Solutions. A really vague general contracting firm that seems to do everything from HVAC to Heavy Equipment operating to manufacturing and maching to lastly General Construction of large projects such as solar centers, warehouses and other large buildings. Recently, Darana has been contracted to help build xAI's Grok 3's datacenter just outside of Memphis. Permits were submitted by Darana for electrical, mechanical and plumbing.
I dismissed any fears back in 2024. I figured Cuttell just wanted a racing series. Now after learning about all of this, I am really skeptical of Cuttell's long term plans for the IHRA. I kind of wonder if his purchasing of the drag strips are basically just a holding plan for now. Run the series for a few years, keep it legit as a secondary revenue source and then when local governments approve the plans, start slowly turning the tracks into data centers.
Again this is all speculation but I get the fears now.

Thoughts on the IHRA acquisition of Maple Grove?
Last year was my first drag race in probably a decade and man it makes me regret not going every year. We were just looking at dates and I found out Maple Grove was acquired by IHRA. What is everyone’s thoughts on the acquisition? Does IHRA do a good job of promoting and hosting an event? I will either attend Maple Grove again, or head up to Empire Dragway in NY

Making a Drag Racing Simulator - What would truly scratch that itch?
I am making a drag racing simulator based on the Missouri Ozarks for mobile and desktop. I have chosen to make it a PWA to make it more accessible to everyone without having to download anything from the Apple or Play stores. It has really been coming along nicely.
Like most of us, we seem to have an itch for that childhood nostalgic game (think Need for Speed, Ridge Racer, Flat Out, etc). My goal for this game is to not only approach it differently, but make it uniquely mine.
So far, my game has 9 tracks, 30 cars of different racing classes, upgrades, tuning, day/night rain cycles, 9 different and unique game modes such as head to head, multiplayer, bracket racing, tournament mode, a high stakes mode (where you can bet your car and your cash), an experimental hot pursuit mode on highway drag races that are multiple miles long with traffic, airports, etc. Oh and a nostalgic soundtrack that I'm working on finding the absolute best royalty free music.
I have added commentary to the tracks and a classic showcase style (NFS narrator style) to the cars in the garage, etc. It is really coming along nicely, but my question to you all is, would you buy it? I have considered making a free to play, and ways to monetize, but I hate ads as much as the next guy, and I hate pay to win. I'm trying to approach this differently without bombarding the user for money which sucks the fun out of playing.
This game is still in early development, and I'm looking into more ways to load it with unique features and abilities.

Events at Estate track build?
Hey all!
Finishing up a track a built in my estate. Having a ton of fun with it and will probably keep tweaking it forever. Does anyone know if there are ways to make events there so people will come race on my track?
It is a circuit with multiple paths to take that include heavy drift options and 2 different drag strips. There's even a car meet/park spot.
Truly appreciate any help! Thank you!
For anyone who wants to check it out here's the share code!

Drag car advice
Need some advice before I start throwing parts at this thing.
High compression stock block 427 sbf
New TEA 240 High Port heads
Bennett Racing custom solid roller cam
Ported Super Victor intake
4150 to 4500 adapter
1100 Pro Systems carb
Car pulls hard until around 6200 RPM, then just falls off and won’t make power. It acts like it noses over on the top end.
My first thought was the 4500 carb on a 4150 intake with the adapter might be the restriction/problem, but I’d like some opinions before I start playing the guessing game.
Timing issue? Valve springs? Fuel delivery? Converter/gearing? Intake/adapter problem? Anyone run into something similar with TEA 240s or a Super Vic setup?
Any advice appreciated.
