We always knew distractible was a psyop but I think we’re now seeing its impacts

there have been multiple jokes about there being That One Listener that only listens and never watches. it’s me. i listen to distractible while i’m at work to stave off boredom and can’t exactly pull out my phone to watch. i listened to all of weird. i listened to the drawing episodes. it’s me. i was blessed (or cursed) with a hyper vivid imagination so i can usually get something out of the more visual episodes, but regardless, I’m That One Listener.

Before some people say the same thing, yes, I know Bob had that horrible experience with Lowe’s about the fridge, and yes, I was wearing the new shirt when I made the purchase of my new fridge.

I will start this story with, “ I should have fucking listened to my gut when I was paying for it.” The guy that was scheduling the installation said, “Yeah, they know what they are doing and are professionals.” I made this purchase at Lowe’s. My wife found the fridge she had been looking for and for a really good deal. I told her I really didn’t want to get it from Lowe’s. Just from listening to that episode, I made myself swear off Lowe’s for stuff like that, plus just other horror stories from family and friends.

I live in Kentucky, and the Lowe’s near me is a bigger one for the area, but we had to go to the one a city over to get the one she wanted, so we did. We saw it in the store and liked it for what it is and liked the price. This was yesterday morning, and they told us it would be delivered today between 3-7 today.

They called at 9 in the morning and said we are 5 minutes away and hope you are ready. Yes, they literally said that over the phone. So very quickly, we had to put away our animals and finish our breakfast so these “professionals” can come put in our new fridge since the other one still works, but a garage fridge is a real thing and it’s fantastic to have.

They show up no more than 3 minutes later, and I shit you not, I see this guy who no more than 5 foot 5 sprint to the door to ring the doorbell 5 times in quick succession. I guess to make sure we are awake even though they had just called us and told us they are 5 minutes away. I let them know they can come through the front door since that’s how the other one came in and out. My buddy and I moved the other one to the garage already, so it was ready to go. No need to go through a side yard and fuck up a gas meter. I do have hardwood floors and tile throughout the house, so I asked if they were going to put down protection for the floors while they move it.

About 10 minutes go by as they pull the new fridge off the truck and unpack it. As 2 guys are doing that, the short one is sprinting back and forth to throw down “protection” blankets for the floors. My wife goes to the other room to watch her morning shows while I deal with this on the other side of the house. As they start to bring in the new fridge, the guy who is pushing the fridge up to the door goes, “I don’t think it’s gonna fit; it looks too small, but I’ll try anything once”. All I said was that’s how the other one got in and out of the house, so yes, it will fit. This fridge is the exact same size as the other one, so I know it will fit with no worries at all.

They get it right up to the door and move it off the small pallet it is sitting on and start to push it into the house. To no one’s knowledge, this is the fact that the guy who was sprinting back and forth with the protect blankets never spread them out. As they start to push the fridge to where they can both get in and lift it with these straps they have, the floor got gashed and took a chunk out of my floor. I didn’t notice this until after they left, but we are almost there. They get the straps around the fridge and lift it up and start to carry it to the kitchen. I tell them the easiest way to get to the kitchen is the laundry room. So they head that way and then all of a sudden I hear them yell “ oh fuck, Jimmy, I lost the strap” and a huge boom in the laundry room. I see all of the laundry supplies and sheets on the floor and the shelf on the floor and the fridge on its face. The tile is in this room and the fridge cracked 4 tiles in the laundry room. They stand it back up and ask if we still want it. All I said was hold on, I go around the other side to get to where I can see the front and see the handles on the front and the freezer drawer handle is broken off. I do not know why they asked if I still wanted it when the guy who was in front very easily saw this and said nothing. I said no, I don’t want it and I want the number to your boss so I can get the damage to my floor fixed because obviously I didn’t do this.

When I said no, I don’t want the fridge, man, they didn’t care how they got it back out, they picked it back up on its back and rushed out the door with it. I yelled for my wife to grab her phone so she can call this number while I deal with them outside. As I yelled for my wife to come to the door, they are “running” to the truck with this fridge and left the trash in my driveway. I start walking to the truck and knock on the window to speak with them again, they roll it down to give me the card of who to call and speed away.

I have never dealt with anything like this before and I should have fucking known that something might have happened, but in my head I was like no, this won’t happen to me, it’s funny it happened to Bob, but man, why would it happen to me.

I hope you all enjoyed the story and hope it brought a smile because all I could do was laugh as I was walking back to the garage to pick up the trash.

So the wheel says "Last to touch nose loses a point", what if Wade had not touched his nose? Would Bob lose a point because he was the last one and therefore we need the other wheel?

I know everyone mentioned the unfair but I am asking about this because I'm a smartass and I would find it hilarious.

I don't know if anybody else has had this happen or if I'm just weird, but I actually managed to call unfair while dreaming.

I was having a dream last night where I was in one of those games where if you lose you die and the people running it/chasing me had a sudden rule change that basically guaranteed that I would lose. So I called unfair. And these supernatural entities in my dream actually listened and did three coin tosses that all turned up heads so the rules didn't change and I survived. I do lucid dream a lot but this didn't even feel like that, I think I just unfaired my own subconscious and it had to respect that.

So thank you to Distractible for making up a nonsense rule that let me avoid dying in my dream.

I got the 5 year anniversary moving shirt in the wrong size. I got a medium and am looking for a large if anyone would like to swap (I promise this isn't a trap😂) Its clean and unworn.👍

I wanted to ask for just random episodes that I can listen to. Right I’m going through something and don’t want to listen to music or other podcasts (Distractible is my only exception). Literally any episode recommendations, maybe one you always think about or that doesn’t get enough love. Thank you in advice!

Another book added to the GN collection, and couldn’t be more excited

Recently I've been cathcing up on the podcast, last time I listened to the Podcast was back in Feb of 2022 (my junior yr). Listening to Bob lose his shit as Mark does the coin toss and he never landed on heads made me dying. But then watching the video after work and seeing Bob's facial expressions made it even better 🤣

At the very end, during the “last to touch nose loses a point” of the most recent episode (hard or soft), wade says “I’ve got such bad reception right now, it’s unfair!”
We need an audit!

There is a company in LA called LA Taximoto. I thought it was funny that Mark was talking about how novel this style of transportation is when there's a motorcycle taxi company in his very city. Now it doesn't seem to be an incredibly large company, so I'll give him a pass for not knowing about it. If anyone lives in LA or plans to visit, you can skip that infamous traffic by checking out their website and booking a ride.

Just what it says; I showed my mom a clip of Bob explaining how he fixed an old Power Wheels Jeep for James and she wanted to see more of his content, so I showed her a stream he did with Ryann and she watched about twenty minutes of it and told me, “he’s a big guy with glasses and a beard and he’s chronically sarcastic. I can absolutely see why you relate to him.”

(I am also a larger bearded man with glasses who cannot take anything seriously.)

Also she thought his story about fixing the Jeep for James was very wholesome.

She was also surprised that Wade is younger than me 😂
