Question Shows on rainy days
It's going to rain today and we want to see some shows as we were able to do a lot of rides yesterday and we'll still have tomorrow.
So if we don't want to buy guaranteed access to the shows like Mickey and the Magician and others (because we are 5 people and it would be so expensive), how long before show should we go there to get a seat? And should we go earlier because of the rain? When do they open the doors?
We'd love to see the shows. But waiting over an hour in a seat can be challenging with kids.
Any tips and tricks?
Thank you so much!

You will not be waiting over an hour on your seats. You wait outside and they start letting people in few minutes before the show starts (around 5-15). So take that in mind as for example the Lion King show has an uncovered queue and you will be still getting wet and not able to sit but on the wet floor.
Having said that, we usually arrive half an hour before the shows or sometimes even when they already had started to let the people in and still gotten a nice spot. I think the tiniest theater and more challenging to get a spot was the Frozen show and that one is already removed.

Lion King isn't playing at the moment. Unfortunately. Thanks for your information

True. It was the example I could think of with a non-covered queue

I lined up in the uncovered Q last year for Lion King last summer . Needless to say it was miserable!

Together is amazing!! Also see what they are doing in the big theatre while you are having lunch (I think it’s called Hyperion, but I’m usually wrong). Last week we had a dance troupe. It was awesome!

Because the shows are multiple times a day and the theaters are so big, 20 min is more than enough. they recommend 30 if you want to be more toward the front. But anywhere you sit always gives you a good view, because they are large theaters..
Tips and Tricks, For Mickey and The Magician, if you have a VISA card, one of the benefits is that you can have a free privileged ticket (basically the paid access for free), for the last show of the day. for Stitch Live is for the last 3 shows of the day, but I believe Stitch live is on break at the moment.
All you need to do is show up 20/30 min before and ask the cast member at the entrance if you can do the VISA card privilege seating. It is for the Visa card holder plus 3 people. So since it's 5 of you, as long as 2 of you have VISA cards, then 1 can say they have 2 guests, and the other has 3. But it would need to be 1 adult at least for each group.
This is part of the VISA partnership Disney has. They won't give you a ticket or anything; they will simply let you join the premier access queue at no cost.
For peace of mind. You can always pop in earlier in the day and ask the cast members if they are doing the Visa card access for the last show of the day 😄
Doors open 10/15 min before the show

Doors open maybe 5/10 minutes before it starts? Its not long at all.
Mickey and the magician theatre is big so usually 20 minutes before is enough.
