Question which girl do you relate to the most on the show and why?

Post image
34 Upvotes

i could honestly always relate to maddie on a deep level, i see so much of myself in her, as a kid, i was always worried about something and adultified and parentified just as she was

i relate to her specific people pleasing tendencies, she listened to grown ups and was an obedient child which made her very vurneable to manipulative adults around her and she was scared of getting in trouble and scared of speaking up or standing up for herself which i relate to so much

how about you?

The Moms were so weird here

This is episode Nine of Season 5, so why are Kira and Jess speaking to Ashlee like they are grizzled veterans of this dance mom job.

Abby loves Kalani, so Kira you’re always in the honeymoon phase

And Abby hated Jojo by day two.

This whole episode is kinda annoying

Question/discussion which dance is the embodiment of the show?

like if someone had never seen the show before, which dance do you think best represents it?

r/dancemoms 3h ago

i'm so confused, some people say maddie rushes while dancing, while others say that she has great musicallity and does everything in the right beat

or am i stupid lol 😭😭, but idk, i always felt that maddie rushed because abby had tendency to put A LOT of choreography in her dances so she picked up the habit, is rushing trought movement messing up your timing or is that a seperate thing at the end of the day?

Question/discussion Favorite Abby moment?

Post image

Abby has very little likable or kind moments, but what is your favorite moment of hers?

I personally loved when she cried because Kenzie danced well.

** This is not a pro Abby post, there are maybe a handful of good moments of hers.

Nia and Cameron

You want to know why I rooted for Nia and Cameron so much. Because they were treated like the weak links and under dogs. Everybody was always so quick to count Nia out especially in the earlier seasons. But as some of the moms got comfortable in Abby's favorite toward their kid and used it to their advantage. Holly had Nia in technique classes off the show so she could improve. And it showed in some of her projects such as shark and love you in the dark. While others used Abby's favouritism to their advantage Nia worked for what she wanted.

Then there's Cameron Cameron came in when it was every man for themselves. She was trated as a weak link as well when in reality she was a very talented dancer. Kira told Camille that Cameron would never go anywhere after dance moms and now Cameron is proving her wrong.

Since the show both Cameron and Nia have worked in the industry professionaly and successfully I might add. Nia worked along side Sherri Shepherd in a starring role in imperfect high, and on one life to live.Off Broadway in 11 to midnight and heading to Pittsburg for Mean Girls as Amember of the ensemble cast. Cameron has performed for usher, Kendrick Lamar Tate, McCrae.

I just wrote this long post to say that I love to see these women thriving when others counted them out.

Question do you agree with ashlee that brynn should've done all eyes on me?

Post image
20 Upvotes

So I just finished watching Season 6, Episode 3, where Kendall performed her solo “all eyes on me.” After she danced, Ashlee said in her interview that Kendall couldn’t even do a sassy jazz routine and that Brynn should’ve been the one performing it instead.

Do you guys agree with Ashlee? Do you think Brynn should have done this solo, or do you think Kendall was the right choice?

each girl's BEST solo

what do you think is each girl's BEST solo? NOT your favorite, what you think objectively is their best.
for me:
maddie: leaving berlin (off show), all god's creatures, hostage
mackenzie: dance doctor, bat crazy, bully
chloe: silence, lucky star, dream on a star
nia: goodbye maya, never knew
brooke: diary of anne frank
paige: make some noise
kendall: voodoo doll!!! (edited bc i had others but i forgot about that one)
kalani: say something say anything
brynn: left cycle, botched (only focused on on show solos)
elliana: aria, am i enough
lilliana: straight escape
camryn: breaking free
not familiar with season 8 cast so i didn't do them

Question/discussion Question: I know the main thing people talk about in this competition is the duet, but how do we think Brooke would've placed with Diary of Anne Frank given her back and how she danced earlier that day with Alouette?

Question S6 E7 why are the moms being so rude to Lynn?

I genuinely am not seeing an issue with her? Melissa and Holly are mad at her because she doesn’t wanna sit and fight for her kid to do the things everyone else had to do to “fit in” when joining a team. She was invited there to dance and Abby got mad at her for being late (understandable) but then wouldn’t let her kid dance. Lynn didn’t think it was fair that her kid needed to go through hell and actually spoke up about not wanting to lose her morals just so her kid could dance with Abby and debated on leaving. They did NOT like that and i respect her decision to deal with things her own way. I’m watching on youtube and people in the comments are saying how they’re exhibiting their typical “pack” behavior and that they want everyone to have the same opinion and ways of doing things that way they all do and i agree with that. They can’t force her to do anything. She already went in the class again to ask if her kid was dancing and Abby yelled at her and wouldn’t tell her anything on if she should leave or not. Idk i think their behavior is very strange toward her and i don’t know why they got involved. They’re rolling eyes and are so mad and i’m not understanding? Abby wasn’t even rude to her kid so it’s not like she needed to go stand up to her. Abby was mad at Lynn and didn’t wanna deal with her at the moment. Even the mini moms were telling her they were fighting for her and didn’t feel like she was fighting for her or her kid and then that’s when the OG moms started getting mad basically telling her to get over it because that’s how it works around there…. I guess it’s because they had nothing else to fight about 😭 i lowkey love her going against their typical way of doing things. Even ABBY stood up for her at the competition about it when Jill threw her under the bus for being quiet and “not caring” like Abby didn’t seem to care anymore. This show frustrates me so bad sometimes lol

Question/discussion Yvette living through Hadley

I'm rewatching dance moms and I'm currently towards the end of season 3. At this point, Hadley and Yvette joined Candy apples.

I only know of Hadley through AUDC and I remember disliking her mom on the dance comp show because she was so annoying for the way she went about things.

I thought that with me being in my 20s rewatching it would offer me a different view of her but I still feel the same way I did as a kid watching her specifically.

I will say a new realization I have is I feel like Yvette is living through Hadley and the other kids (especially on S3E35) because she blew up over Gina not crediting her for doing the group choreo for candy apples. She does say something along the lines of "I see a piece of me on the dance floor" which reinforces how I feel.

BUT I'm for certain editors made it appear like this for drama and stuff like that (as they typically do lol).

I do like Hadley and think she's a great dancer. But Yvette was definitely something else...

It’s no secret Abby was always out to get Chloe and it wouldn’t surprise me if this were the case for the duet. Was anything ever confirmed?

Question/discussion does tap have an advantage in comps??

this question is mainly for actual dancers or dance teachers or anyone whose actually dealt with comp dance before, but yeah, does tap have an advantage?

i ask because i was looking through sophia lucia's old solo results and noticed that her tap solos usually scored and placed higher than her jazz and lyrical solos, which shocked me.

same with maddie. i look at her old solo results, and her tap solos almost always won over her jazz and lyrical solos. also very surprising to me.

obviously both are amazing tappers, but i'm wondering, are they really better tappers than they are dancers in general? or is it easier for a good tap solo to win over a good solo of another style (at a good comp where judges know how to judge tap)?

Question/discussion Best duo pairing that doesn't involve Maddie?

Thumbnail

I know this is a popular favorite but DEFINITELY Chloe and Paige for me! Such a sweet duo and I wish the day would have been good for them.

One that's not as popular is Camryn and Brynn. They were definitely two of the best on the team at the time, and my two favorites of the later seasons.

** not meant to be negatively towards Maddie. Almost all of the best duos include her, so I'm wondering what some non-maddie favs are!

Ease on Down the Boulevard

I SO wish this was an actual Wizard of Oz themed group dance and not just a commercial. Wizard of Oz is one of the most fun themes you can get for a dance and I loved how each girl embodied their role, I just wish (again) the dance wasn’t to a glorified ALDC commercial (yes I know that was the whole point of the dance, but I wish they used a different song choice tbh)

Also, if Chloe, Paige, and Brooke were still here, who do we think Abby would assign them to??
