It isn't if you consider the fact that you have to pay 33% interest for the rest of your life, or at least it's meant to be that way but apparently magic has a bunch of ways to cheat your way out of it, who knew!

The fact that the ways to cheat out of paying the interest are all in black/white - the evil banker combo - is a huge flavor win IMO.

Or the life of your opponent, whichever is shorter. And the average lifespan can’t be more than a couple turns with this in play
