Bought a 1999 Honda VF750C Magna

Post image

I have always wanted to buy one of these bikes to add to my collection and recently one popped up in great shape. It is not showroom by any means but it is the color I wanted with locking saddle bags and some other great accessories. I feel like I am going to be picking this one over newer more expensive bikes in the stable…very unique experience riding this thing.

Congrats! A Magna was my first ever motorcycle purchase, unique machines and had loads of fun with it.

It’s probably my 30th bike or so, been riding 25 years.

Friend of mine had one of these. He saw my bike one day and said “I need to let you ride mine, it’s fast!” I said, what do you have? He said “it’s a little Honda 750” I said, A Shadow 750? “ uh I think something like that”. He brought that thing over, I wasn’t familiar with Magnas I got on that thing and I knew once I got on the road “this ain’t no shadow” lol that thing hauled booty!

Man I would love to start collecting like that but people in my area list 30 year old high mileage bikes for a few grand less than brand new ones.

I have one of my garage stalls just for bikes. It can fit 4 comfortably for riding. There are a couple I regret selling so right now the only ones I ride are a Ducati, Tenere, and the Magna. I have a few others in a workshop at another property that I think are just collectible and don’t get ridden hardly ever. The ones I don’t ride are all self-insured and are only started up and ridden around private property occasionally. Maybe I’ll open a little motorcycle museum some day. Dreams.

Magna’s were my favorite Honda model of all time. Congratulations and enjoy it.

Thank you. I did a 200 mile ride yesterday and it was perfect. 32mpg / 7.3L/100km, but I did not buy it for fuel economy.

Have always wanted one. Riding a RoadStar 1700 but thought the Magna just looked cool.
