DISCUSSION Just finished watching it for the time, ending with the movie. I only have ONE question…
What happened to Faye during the film?
When she inevitably inhaled that virus thing cuz of COURSE she did, what exactly did Vincent do to Faye? The last we see of them before it cuts away is Vincent forcing himself upon Faye, and next we see is her waking on the floor, and him saying he gave her his blood….. so uh How? And what exactly is supposed to be implied, because i couldn’t pick up exactly what extent Vincent did.
How Evil was Vincent?

Vincent has the antidote/vaccine in his DNA, thats why when he made Faye swallow a bit of his blood after she shot his hand she was saved since she was now immune. As for her passing out im sure that was just a side effect of the initial infection making her fall asleep. He didn't do anything to her in the time she was asleep. I do think, however, he was about to do something amin the scene after when he cuts her shirt open.
This is why Electra was immune but didnt know it until the train scene. Her and Vincent had previously had a physically romantic relationship (ill let you guess what bodily fluid she got from him) so she had been holding the cure in her body the entire time.
Vincent wasn't really "evil" as much as slightly insane due to his circumstances and how bad he got screwed over. That line he has when he's explaining his condition to faye and she says "you're insane" and he responds with "you'll learn very soon that the WORLD is insane" is a very important line if you want to explore Vincent's motivations and a big piece of watanabes message throughout this movie.
What did you think of the series overall? BTW

Ohhhhhhhh I completely missed that, thank you for explaining. The film left me feeling like I definitely need to rewatch it to better understand it.
Regarding the overall series, I didn’t LOVE IT But I absolutely didn’t hate it. What I mean like, every episode felt unique and so different and i kept wanting to see what the gang would get out next. However when I got to say episode 18-19 I completely stopped the series purely because i strangely didn’t want it to end. I took me a good year to come back and finish it, and seeing the characters “complete” their stories in different ways, left me yearning for more, but in a melancholy way. So when I watched the finale and it ended Like…that, I didn’t cry. I wasn’t disappointed. I felt like empty in way, so when i saw there was film I bought the physical bluray instantly. And it felt exactly just like another adventure with the crew, which is exactly what i wanted and the ending left me with a good message to think about. But I just wish there was just more of Spike, Faye and such, just…living and working.
And despite all of that, I would absolutely recommend the entire series to a friend, and would absolutely rewatch the series if I got it physically.

Oh trust me the series gets even better on rewatches. There are so many secrets and hints to discover and story beats that you may have completely missed your first time around.
For example, fun fact, the bird vicious carries on his shoulder is called a cormorant and its famously the same type of bird the devil turned into in order to spy on Adam and eve from the top of the tree of knowledge as they performed the original sin. Im not sure if you figured out the dynamic between spike, Julia and vicious but its a very clever aster egg

I was born when it came out and I’m spikes age now 27. Finished it for first time yesterday and it made me cry, especially the cat story. I just wish they gave Faye and Jet more of an ending considering their characters were so important for the other 24 eps

Vincent sucked blood from the gunshot wound to his hand that Faye delivered. He then forced his mouth on her. His virus-killing nanobots entered her via that "kiss". She may have spat out much of the blood, but not 100% of it. Vincent is indeed evil.
