I actually read it out of curiosity and the gist of it is the Gits manga was apparently more in line with the tone of Bebop and not as dark as the first film adaptation, since the films dark tone did well future films copied that instead of the manga. The new Gits according to this article is going to be more humor and bright music basically saying it'll be a similar vibe to Bebop. I am skeptical lol.

The article title should have been "New GITS anime adaptation to stay truer to manga" or something like that.

As someone who has read the manga and loved it, I wouldn't compare it to Cowboy Bebop. While the tone might be closer the GITS manga is still more about the philosophy and tech than it is about the characters.

I think you'd be very surprised by how SAC is different from all the rest of the GitS franchise.

The original manga has a lot more comedy and silliness, but I'd never consider it the same style as Cowboy Bebop.

I clicked that article really fast, and was so disappointed. I am absolutely hyped for the new Ghost in the Shell, it looks incredible. But it has nothing to do with Cowboy Bebop. Honestly, if you straight up told me "Hey, you should check this show out. It's a complete rip off of Cowboy Bebop but it's pretty good." I would probably watch it and enjoy it.
