Sonoran Hot Dogs
My partner and I are feeling a little home sick and were hoping someone knows if there is anywhere in or near Cincy that has Sonoran dogs?
I’ve looked around and haven’t found anything.

We’re from Tucson and there is a Sonoran dog place on every street corner since it used to be Sonora before the border moved south. They’re the GOAT of hot dogs

I’ve not seen anyone do Sonoran style Mexican food here. I get el guero canelo whenever I’m in Tucson. I really would enjoy someone taking a run at that here.
To me, those are god tier hot dogs. Give me those before a ny or Chicago dawg any day

ANY. DAY. OF. THE. WEEK. I lived in Tempe for a long time but every time I was in Tucson I went to el guero canelo. Can only possibly be beat by somewhere in Mexico...maybe! Goddamn do I miss Arizona!

So I just asked Google Gemini and check out the menu at Chicago Gyros and Dogs. Might be the closest we can get. I’ve been there several times and love the vibe, but I always get a gyro, so I never paid attention to their dogs. But they are very accommodating, I can see them putting any ingredients you want on your dog.

Yeah, it’s not quite there, but I wouldn’t turn my nose up at it since seems like it’s as close as I’ll find at a restaurant here.
I might just have to make my own if I want the real deal

I had one when I was in Phoenix for business 2 years ago. Lupita’s. And I miss it. And when I saw that I needed to go to Phoenix again this year, the first thing I did was checked to make sure Lupita’s was still there. Yep. But I’m saving this post because I’m right there with you. I hope somebody knows of a place locally.

Based on the comments and my search, I’m almost 99% certain nobody will have them.
I’m probably going to try taking a crack at making my own. Ingredients are basic enough, I just don’t have a grill, which might change the taste a little

Oh yea, there’s nothing like that out here, been in Ohio almost 20 years now. I’ve resorted to making my own flour tortillas-gotten pretty damn good at it too.

You aren't finding that here. Ive desperately wanted a torta like from Tortas Manantial in Arizona but haven't gotten very close here

Love Sonoran hot dogs but haven't seen them here. However, if you'd like to try a very good Venezuelan hot dog (cabbage, shredded cheese, bacon, potato sticks, mayo, mustard and ketchup) try Manny's Cabin, in Florence.
