Having tried to find one for some time now, I'm thinking of starting a small in person writing group around West Sussex. Will likely be in the Chichester area or thereabouts.

I'm also playing with the idea of it including or expanding to a side group encompassing film / stories of any format / history / casual philosophy / discussion / ideas group.

The idea would essentially be a casual group atmosphere with thoughtful people discussing all things around writing, with discussion, workshops, work sharing, critique etc and then the expanded idea maybe being a separate group or set dates.

Age range will probably aim for late 20s - 50s and beyond ideally but not strict.

If anyone can recommend any venues that are cheap / free to hire out for a few hours at a time that would be much appreciated.

Also if this sounds like your kind of thing, comment or message me with your interest or things you'd like to see from this kind of group.

What might the reason be for a sharp white bright flash of light appearing from the right hand of the bypass going south, then again west of the bypass?

No traffic cameras there nor speed camera vans as far as I'm aware

I was with the Legio II Augusta (Roman re-enactment group) who were at Priory Park on Thursday. Just a shout out to all those who came along. I had a great time talking with people about a variety of Roman topics. It was very hot but definitely worth it, I love doing this and it's the chats I have with people which are always the best bits.

We’re staying in East Wittering this weekend with our two kids - 6 and 10.

I was looking at Chichester Marina and saw you can rent App bikes - has anyone done this and know if there are kids bikes too? And if it’s a good place to visit for a couple of hours?

If anyone has any other kid friendly activities or places to visit I’d be keen to hear.

Aside from the beach, we have Arundel Castle and a stroll around Chichester on the list too.

Good people of Chi, I've seen a few films at Cineworld recently that finished pretty late. Each time, I've walked out into a deserted Chi Gate to be met by eerie horror film like music being piped from somewhere out into the open.

It's not from Tenpin or other venues as they're all closed.

Where is it coming from? Does it have to be so damn unsettling?! And.... why??

Hi all, my family and I (one eight year old kid, two adults) are going to be in London for two weeks in late June/early July and are looking for a little trip outside of London. We are a big theatre family and I was looking at the festival. What is the vibe like? Is there a lot of street entertainment/music, vendors, activities, etc. or is more just there is a lot of theatre happening at the various venues? I have done a lot of googling but can't quite get a read on it, so I'll be very grateful for any tips.

Taking my in laws out for dinner after racing at goodwood and looking to impress them a bit, so would be grateful for any suggestions. Cost not important but impressive location and food quality would be great, ideally not standard pub grub. Thanks for any ideas!
