It's truly so hard to ice a cake, bakers do not get enough credit for that. I just got my first turn table and piping bags, all the tools.... wow that makes it so much easier to do! + homemade caramel and dark chocolate chips on the top

Iβm a beginner at baking and Iβm from the US. I noticed people talking about cakes from the US not having enough layers. For cakes that have tons of layers, how exactly are you doing it? Are you partially filling cake pans and doing several rounds in the oven? Or are you making regular (to me) size cakes and cutting them smaller as they cool? Or something else? Is your frosting less sweet or different since Iβd guess youβd need much more?

So the cake is an extremely heavily soaked coffee flavoured cake, topped with coffee flavoured French buttercream and chocolate ganache!π

My best friend requested a cake for her bachelorette party recently. I scoured the internet looking for advice on flying with a cake, and even posted on Reddit, but came up empty. So Iβm posting my journey to hopefully help others if theyβre ever in need of traveling with a cake.
I had to fly from SFO to SAN. The flight itself wasnβt long, but between the trip to the airport, a major delay, and flying during a holiday weekend, she was out of the fridge for almost 12 hours. Food safety wise I knew I was okay, I was mostly worried about decorations melting or getting jostled. She ended up being on car rides, lots of walking, BART, AirTram, going through TSA, and flying in the plane, all totally okay!!
Hereβs what I did: The cake was in a cake carrier, then in a thin cooler bag. This was honestly mostly for portability with the strap. She was in the fridge the entire night, taken out at 6am before leaving for the airport. On top of the cake I put a bag of only ice to keep it cold during the ride over to the airport. I expected to throw it away once there, but it didnβt melt so they let me keep it. Because of the delay I waited for a few hours before boarding, then used it as my personal item since it fit under the seat. No one had any questions. The cabin is pressurized, so nothing exploded or bubbled. Iβve had cakes have bubbles when driving up elevation before so it was a worry, but nothing happened.
Feel free to ask me any questions at all. I was super nervous beforehand and it went super smooth with no questions. Then we got to eat delicious and moist cake. :)

I baked this βTres Lechesβ inspired bundt cake with cream cheese frosting for my friendβs birthday π. I saw it on Pinterest and had to recreate it! Last slide is the Pinterest inspo. Iβm still a beginner, how did I do?
Before the flower police comes at meπ : the lily was for aesthetics only and was very briefly on the cake. The stem was completely isolated from the cake, and it was removed before serving.

So, moneys been tight. And my partners 40th birthday is coming up, ive managed to get him some gifts but then decided im going to bake him a cake myself - i have played about with some cakes before but all with icing and a standard cake. Now hes not a massive fan of jam, and doesnt like icing so this is all new to me.
What could i use inside the layers? As an alternative to buttercream and jam or along side buttercream.
Whats the best none sickly cake?
Finally.. im planning on trying a nightmare before christmas jack skellington face design for the cake. Probably all going to have to be buttercream. Could i add something to it to flavour it? He absolutely loves white chocolate..
Im so stressed out i feel like ive added so much pressure to myself.
Sorry final question.. so you assemble the cake then do one layer of butter cream then put it in the fridge then do another right?
Any tips to help me on my way? π€£ im so sorry for the long post.

A local restaurant wants me to supply cheese cakes about 4 11β a week. How much should I charge? The last person they bought from was charging $65 a cake but they donβt like that his fall apart. $12.90 in ingredients each
I am making my 3yo his birthday cake. He wants chocolate and Mario. I'm making a week in advance and freezing. I feel like the cake needs a filling, what do you think?
It's pretty chocolate forward, with 3 layers of moist chocolate cake (Sally), then the bottom 2 layers (blue, marios overalls) have chocolate butter cream between them. The outside of the whole cake is a vanilla Swiss meringue buttercream which is very mild tasting and not that sweet, I made that choice because of the colours I am trying to achieve, I was thinking less about flavour there.
My husband suggested putting raspberry jam between the middle and top layer (red, marios shirt), but I think I missed my shot, as I already iced that layer with the SMBC (because of the clean line I am hoping to achieve) when I put it all together. (The top will have a mario cookie i already made.)
Any ideas?

I fell in love with carrot cake after trying one at a cafΓ© in Incheon Airport, South Korea.
Today I finally tried making one myself from scratch and it turned out so much better than I expected.

Hi friends!
My momβs birthday is coming up, and when I asked what kind of cake she wanted, she said pineapple and white chocolate.
The problem is that none of the bakeries in my area are willing to make it (they only offer cakes that are already on their menu).
So Iβve decided to make one myself. I have made some cakes before, but never made one with this flavor combination before.
Do you have any recipes you could teach me? π
Iβd especially appreciate recipes that are moist and creamy rather than dry
Thanks in advance!

But I do have a question
I make my fondant home made using melted marshmallows and powdered sugar
But it is soooo hard to work with and no matter how many rolls I do it doesnβt get smooth enough as you can see
How do I fix that
or if you use ready fondant could you please suggest reasonably priced ones
