This makes me crazy, too. I pop 'em off and leave them where I find them if it's a cactus I am purchasing.

Thing is every purchase tells the retailer that you LIKE the plastic flowers. They only do it as a cheap way to increase sales

Of course. But it comes down to walking away and hope you find it in the dumpster in a few months, or deciding to rescue that cactus from further humiliation and death. Certainly a toss up.

I mean typically the cactus’s in this situation are fairly common and easy to come by. Just get it somewhere else
