This makes me crazy, too. I pop 'em off and leave them where I find them if it's a cactus I am purchasing.

How do you get them off of there? I bought one and it seems really firmly attached.

Some more stubborn than others. If it's a plant you really want, take it home and perform the surgery
there. Maybe with X-Acto knife or razor blade.

If they have used hot melt glue a few drops of methylated spirits will relise the glue.

I put cacti outside in the summer time, and I have found that the flower will get easy to remove after it spends some time outside.
