Yes, I got it for $300 late Last month. The price will not go down to $300 though, it's going to stay at $350, or increase, or run out of stock.

Going with a buddy on Sunday to microcenter to help with his build. Is the 7600x3d bundle worth and extra $50 over this?

u/GTFr0 Feb 28 '26
CPU spec-wise, the only difference between the two is the base/boost clock, with the 7500X3D at 4.0/4.5 GHz and the 7600X3D at 4.1/4.7 GHz.
With that said, the 7500X3D is an OEM chip, so you don't get the standard 3 year warranty with it.
I'd say that's your biggest tradeoff with the CPU's.
For the combo itself, the 7500X3D comes with a MATX mobo, so if you're looking at building something smaller, definltely go for the 7500X3D.

id say definitely. this mobo is so sad looking,

Absolutely not, why do you say that? I bought this 7500x3d bundle mod January for 299 and it's been amazing and it's one of the few boards that has 5Gb networking. I haven't utilized it yet but I'm getting a 5gb nic for my server soon to connect the two. It also has 3 m.2.. It's 800 series unlike most bundles still being on 600. It has wifi 6E. Bios flashback. Clear cmos button. My only complaint is I would like more USB.

In theory, this motherboard is fine. However, hopefully you dont get unlucky like these people did(I had the exact same experience) - https://www.microcenter.com/product/706380/amd-ryzen-5-7500x3d,-pro-b850m-vc-wifi6e-cpu-motherboard-bundle (scroll down to the reviews)
" I drove to pick it up and then when getting home, installing it and testing it, faced nothing but constant freezes. In the BIOS, while installing Windows, in Windows. Sometimes it would happen within 30 seconds, other times it would happen a few minutes after boot. But it always happened"
"a month ago Maybe I just got lucky but mine won’t even stay running in the bios for more than an hour before it freezes. Not over clocking, removed all cards (which was a 5060ti that I picked up for this) and it just locks up. Constantly. Maybe an hour maybe 3 minutes but so far ai’ve wasted days trying to hunt it down. When it freezes in the bios there’s something wrong. I’ve flashed it like 10 times, even when you go to flash it it locks if a nvme is on the board. "
Its a bad memory controller on the motherboard. In my testing, the including ram working just fine(even with the EXPO on) in a different motherboard. The CPU worked just fine on a different motherboard(and together with the included ram). I tried flashing the latest, greatest bios - still no difference. It would crash consistently under gaming load and sometimes it would even crash in the bios, which is something that I have never experienced in 12 years of building and overclocking PCs.

That deal was $300 a few weeks ago and that would be good but the mobo doesn't have much cooling.

u/Thetaarray Feb 28 '26
You’d probably be better saving the 50 and swapping out cpu later, or getting more ram or gpu right now.

u/Lavotite Feb 28 '26
You can multiple sets of ram for the 200 or 220 price

u/beermoneymike Feb 28 '26
Not anymore

u/Lavotite Feb 28 '26
Dang that that must be recent. I did it 12 days ago.

Unless you need a MATX board or really want to save the $50, the $400 7600X3d bundle is better.

I'm on a 5600X with a 6700xt graphics card. Seems like a good upgrade for only $350? I'm mainly looking for better fps in games like Path of Exile which I recall is very CPU intensive.
I'm looking for an ITX or mATX build so this bundle interests me over the other bundles. It looks like it's a single 16gb stick of RAM which seems easier to upgrade by adding another stick later on.
I'm also currently on 32gb of DDR4 so this would be half the RAM. I wonder if this would be a noticeable impact as long as I limit my tabs/background processes.

I got this in January when they were $300 in order to move to the AM5 platform myself. My old rig was decent, 12600k/z790/32gb DDR5, but any cpu upgrades would have costed the same as the bundle. I wound up selling the stick of ram, cpu, and motherboard for the same price I paid into this; with how much RAM has skyrocketed, you could probably do the same with your current setup. For me it’s a slight upgrade, with the added security of future upgradeability. 16GB of ddr5 will be fine for gaming, and if you need the other stick for dual channel, there might be others like me who don’t need it selling theirs online for cheaper than the stores sell them for too.

For about the 50th time in the last several years, I find myself saying that I wish I were near a Microcenter. Unbeatable value right now. Feels bad buying a budget setup online. I'll be paying close to $300 for significantly inferior parts all told. But I don't see any way to get anything that requires DDR5 for reasonable prices anymore unless you're by a Microcenter. Anyone have suggestions?

If you're not hard set on 32 GB of DDR5, Newegg has some decent combo bundles as well.
This Newegg bundle was just posted on here 2 days ago, and includes an AIO as well as the mobo/CPU/RAM. Not as good as this deal, but certainly cheaper than buying everything individually.

ASRock 😬
I've had too many problems with their boards over the years. But I appreciate you trying to help!

I have the 5700X3D and game at 1440p. I realize I could sell it and break even but is it worth the hassle just to move up to AM5?

Imagine if RAM wasn't ludicrously price and we had a 32GB version of this for under $400.

I asked if I could do the $50 for +16GB more and they said they're not doing it anymore. So offered to buy the 7600x3D pack instead, and said the same thing.
I'm pretty sad after I drove 1.5hrs to get there to be denied when I thought the promo to still be going on.

u/One-Recording8588 Feb 28 '26
Did it say they were doing it on the website? If not then that’s on you for not calling.
4
u/StabbyMeowkins Feb 28 '26
Yes. They said they ended it that day I came in. I drove there to be there when it opened, to see the promotion updated when they opened up.
I just won't be there on opening hour going forward. My mistake.

I tried to do the same thing a few weekends ago with this very bundle. They told me it would be an additional $130 for the additional 16 GB stick of RAM.
To be fair, $480 for a X3D CPU, mobo and 32GB of DDR5 is a pretty damn good deal, but it was a bit more than I wanted to spend, so I didn't end up pulling the trigger.

to anyone trying to build a pc this is a pretty great deal. Majority of people dont need a 7800/9800x3d to enjoy quality gaming and while yes you COULD have gotten a 32gb kit of DDR5 for almost the same price as 16 back then, nowadays this is the next best thing. You don't "need" 32 and 16 is just fine. In the future, when ram prices return to normal (hopefully) you can get yourself a bigger kit of ram for a reasonable cost

u/TheWizardGeorge Feb 27 '26
This ram is AWFUL and I had to go down to 5200 to even use it without blue screens or straight up failing to post. This is after I got my replacements from the first set too.
13
u/Granddy01 Feb 28 '26
Probs had a defective mobo or outdated bios.
My set had no issues reaching the xmp profile on 3 different sets.
2
u/TheWizardGeorge Feb 28 '26
Nope, bios are updated and other ram works fine. It's a pretty widely reported issue with these.

I’m not doubting your experience, but just wanted to add that they sell tons of this RAM and the kit I got half a year ago has had no issues with EXPO.

It’s not the ram it’s the mobo. I had the same issue it would only be stable at base speeds. I tried with multiple sets of ram.

Not an insane deal at any other time of the year . Ram is overpriced, so it’s looks better than it really is, otherwise yall would shun this deal am talk about how bad it is

u/GTFr0 Feb 28 '26
I'm looking at my records, and I bought a bundle with a 5600x, B550M Tuf Gaming and 16 GB Corsair DDR4-3600 for $410 back in July of 2022.
$350 for an entry level board, X3D chip and some memory doesn't seem like that bad of a deal.

u/GTFr0 Feb 27 '26 edited Feb 27 '26
Probably the best deal you can get for a AM5 X3D CPU, mobo and memory.
My local Microcenter is showing 20 in stock.
