Turista Ajánlás | Tourist Recommendation Pubs and good food?
Hi neighbors :)
Several of my friends and I are coming to Budapest on June 12th. We are going to the Metallica and Gojira concert on June 13th. Can you recommend some good pubs and some good restaurants/fast food, whatever is around the Puskas Arena?

There's only tears and despair in that neighbourhood. Try the city center

Hi Melvin!
Well Puskas Arena is surrounded by the Eastern railway station, Arena mall, and another smaller stadium (Papp Laszlo sportarena), so not exactly the ideal location for the small, cute, good atmosphere pubs and restaurants :D lots of shady people. But it is a big stadium so of course directly on the metro line (M2) so you can drink and eat elsewhere, and get there very quickly!
I think maybe the closest place that I would call okay is Kert bisztró, but then not far away behind heroes' square is zöld küllő which is nice as its in a green parky area, you just have to walk a little bit, as its not on the metro's line. So really depends on if you want to be close in proximity, or close in time :D

public transport here is very good. no need to restrict yourself to the area around there.

+1, you can even download "Budapest go" app, which is surprisingly working great for navigating around the city. There is a metro there, you can be in the downtown within 10 minutes basically

Derby sorozo. Or try Rizmajer on Blaha and get the M2 to puskas. Rizmajer does good food and beer

Budapest local here — happy to help!
The area immediately around Puskás Aréna is pretty sparse for food and drink so the top comment is right — head to the city centre before the concert and come back just for the show.
Best pre-concert pub crawl route — District VII (Jewish Quarter):
- Szimpla Kert — the original ruin bar, unmissable
- Instant/Fogas — massive complex, multiple bars and floors
- Élesztőház — best craft beer in Budapest, District IX
Good food before the concert:
- Menza — Hungarian classics done properly, Liszt Ferenc tér
- Borbíróság — wine bar with great food, same area
- Street food — Gozsdu Udvar courtyard in District VII has great options
On concert night practically: Get to the stadium area early — food options near Puskás are limited to fast food kiosks. Grab a proper meal in the centre first, then metro/tram to the stadium. Line 2 metro to Puskás Ferenc Stadion stop is direct.
Have an amazing concert! Metallica in Budapest will be incredible 🤘
