Children/YA Book for a 10 year old in Uganda

We have been sponsoring a little girl from Uganda for over 6 years now. I don’t wanna specify her age but she’s between 10 to 13.

We are always trying to send her something in hopes it won’t get stolen. Last time, I sent her “the little prince” as that book can last her ages.

It must be the teeny tiny (max 175 pages), otherwise they will try to steal her stuff.

Any idea what another book could be?

With how political/geographical books are now, I can’t think of any. Those classics are too European, too Christian based - and while I love our traditions, she’s Muslim and I must and will continue to respect that.

Another thing is that she lives in poverty, and before the funds she receives now, her grandma (who’s raising the kids) could hardly afford food. I don’t want to send her a book that glorifies a privileged rich child.

She has 14 siblings, and they all often share their things - including school books, so preferably something that they can enjoy for another few more years.

My request: A book for a girl aged 10-13 years old from Uganda. A book she can share with her siblings, doesn’t glorify rich Europeans/American and is appropriate for a Muslim (African, there is a difference).

Thank you!
