Fiction A book about a mother figure saving a young women/ a teen girl from abuse or adopting her ?
In any era i don’t mind. I want the book to be focused solely on the dynamic between them, the mother figure is protective, loving, kind, motherly, firm and disciplinary when she needs to be.

The first book that comes to mind is *The Secret Life of Bees* by Sue Monk Kidd - August is such an amazing maternal figure to Lily, and their relationship is the heart of the whole story. There's also *Where the Crawdads Sing* where Tate's mom isn't around much but there are some strong protective figures. If you're open to fantasy, *The Ten Thousand Doors of January* has some beautiful found family vibes with protective maternal relationships.
