Well, made a mistake.

Post image

Boat ramp was packed and I was solo that day, was trying to hurry up and get out of the way and forgot to trim the motor all the way up before pulling out of the ramp. I noticed it grab immediately and backed off, knew exactly what I had done. Backed it back in the water and trimmed up. This is the damage, how screwed is the lower unit ? Can I bend it back and touch it up ? No cracks or crazy deep gouges, just a slight bend and some scrape. Mercury alpha 1.

Good suggestions here. But no one has mentioned the obvious, but I will just in case. When you hit, don't back up. At all. Try and keep the boat from moving backwards with Park and Emergency Brake. Get out, trim up, and continue to pull the boat up and off the ramp.

Good luck with your fix. This isn't a show stopper.

You probably wear seat belts too, bitch!!

Im really kidding. I do have some richer friends (im older) that would rather tear through that shit and ride out than being embarrassed at the boat ramp.

Lol. I do wear my seat belt. And I can be a bitch sometimes.

I get it though. Boat ramps are one of the most intimidating places on the planet.
