Any jobs going?

Hi all,

I’m a 29-year-old guy currently looking for work. My background is mainly in hospitality and consultancy, but I’m happy to get stuck into almost anything.

I’d describe myself as a jack of all trades – adaptable, quick to learn, and comfortable turning my hand to different types of work. Whether it’s customer-facing roles, admin, operations, project support, manual work, or something completely different, I’m open to opportunities.

I’m also in the process of setting up my own business in my spare time, so I’m looking for work that can provide some income while I get that off the ground.

If anyone knows of any opportunities or is looking for someone reliable and hardworking, I’d love to hear from you. Thanks!

Commute from Wixams to Bedford train station, four times a week

Hey guys! Long time London renter, now looking to buy a first home (yay!). I am buying alone, so budget is a bit tight.

I have been exploring places outside of London, and Wixams stood out to me (affordability, planned future amenities, quality of the developments and area).

As the Wixams station has been delayed again (👎🏾), I wanted to ask how everyone commuted to London from Wixams on a regular basis if you had to go in for work.

My office is in Farringdon, I need to be at my desk at 8:45am and leave at 5pm, four times a week.

Does everyone drive and park at Bedford station? What if a member of the household didn’t have a car and also needed to commute regularly?

Thanks for your input!

Newpost: Would anyone like to throw a frisbee or meetup in Bedford park (Sunday 31st)?

OP deleted their account weirdly on the old post but it did get me to think, should we try and make this a regular Sunday thing every week? Go support the cafe, throw some frisbee for an hour and make some friends? Age inclusive 18+?

Hi,

Running out of places to post.

My budgie flew away 3 nights ago, his name is Blue and he's super friendly.

He flew from Toddington but could be quite far now.

At this point any news would be better than none

Thankyou.

Question regarding photos on a Bromham/Bedford street

Hi all. I’m from the US and I have a question that’s probably stupid and irritating, I apologize. I’ll be going to the UK in September, and I am a huge Some Mothers Do ‘Ave ‘Em fan, so naturally I want to visit some filming locations.

Most shouldn’t be a problem, but one in particular is a (seemingly) residential road in Bromham, Bedford. It isn’t the houses that interest me—this specific scene was just filmed on the road itself.

Would it be appropriate for me to go to the road and take some photos (not of any people/houses/cars/identifying info)? Or is this a ridiculous and rude thing to do?

I’m not loud or disruptive, I promise. I’d go, take a couple pictures, and leave.

But I won’t do it if this is something that would be frowned upon.

(As a Yank, if some random person came on my street and started taking pictures, I personally wouldn’t mind as long as they weren’t photographing me. I don’t think most other Americans would mind either, but I know the culture is really different over here.)

I hope this post doesn’t break any rules. Sorry if it’s a stupid/annoying question. Some Mothers just means a lot to me and I’d like to visit as many filming locations as possible.

Best Outdoor Swims / Lakes / Rivers near Bedford ?

With hot weather coming up and us being miles from the sea, are there any nice lakes or rivers open for public swimming? Looking for any local suggestions for somewhere small to paddle around on the long weekend, rather than like a big water club sort of vibe.

TY ^

Any open land or maybe car parks for driving practice?

Hi. I am helping my nephew learn to drive so he has a head start on lessons. He's currently only 16 so we can't go on public roads. Are there any places in Bedford or surrounding area where I could take him to practice some basic car control without any risk of damaging my car or other people's property?

I was thinking abandoned car park, scrap land, or a disused farm track or whatever.

Restaurant recommendations for 70th birthday

Hi all. My mum is 70 later this year and the restaurant we were hoping to book has closed down. Can anyone recommend a restaurant that serves good quality pub grub or homemade food restaurants in the Bedfordshire area? Anywhere in Bedfordshire would be fine. Thanks!

If there was an RLSH (Real Life Superhero) group in Bedfordshire what would people think about it?

Just so people know RLSH is people who dress up in superhero costumes or similar things and assisting the public (Picking up litter, assisting the homeless).
