Am I doing this right?
r/babywearing • u/Plus_Farm3643 • Feb 02 '26
Both girls are teething and want to be held so broke out the twin ring sling and desperately tried to get it together as both girls were screaming š how does everything look? Wanna make sure Iām doing this right if Iām gonna be wearing them often. I canāt figure out how to get the chest ring high like the lady in the video showed. Any tips would be much appreciated!

I feel like my problems with this are obvious. How do I get the rings to sit higher up? When I tighten the fabric they move down, I had them on the top of my shoulder when I put baby in. Also how do I make sure itās not digging into her knee pits? I have the fabric tucked in between us under her butt and I did a pelvic tilt but it still feels like itās digging into her legs. A hip carry feels more natural with this one but less secure because she doesnāt have good truck control yet.

First time baby has tolerated being in a wrap (Ty for the tip to bounce on a ball!) so I am wondering how we did? Any improvements? I realized I should have left his feet bare. Also my right over the shoulder section seemed to touch/encroach on his face so I folded it over, not sure if thatās ok or how to get around that. I tried for an M shape but not sure if itās right. Thank you!!

Hi! Basically the title! Little one was 15lbs 14.9oz yesterday at their appointment, this is a Boba Wrap (Got second hand, the manual just says boba wrap). Legs are apart and Im pretty sure we're getting that M shape, close enough to kiss, feels super snug and secure. Any tips? Anything you're seeing I don't have the eye for?

Hoping to get some insight from another pair of eyes.
I have the Beluga Baby Cove carrier. Purchased in July 2025 when my son was just under 2m old. I LOVE this carrier. I wear him every single day for sometimes hours (naps).
In December 2025 I noticed the waistband was completely folded in half and I just felt the integrity of the carrier wouldnāt hold up into toddler years, as I have a bit of a barnacle baby and am anticipating I will be wearing him for a long time.
I reached out to the owner and she offered to have me send my carrier back to the to have the waistband replaced and the Velcro replaced and reinforced. She also set me up with an OT for a free fit consultation and they gave me the green light on my fit for front and back carry. She even sent me a loaner carrier to borrow while mine was being fixed.
I had my repaired carrier , and itās literally been 2 weeks and the waistband is folding in half AGAIN. Iām so frustrated I donāt know what to adjust to prevent this from happening!!
Any insight?? This carrier was so expensive I really donāt want to ruin itā¦
Pics attached - I know heās a bit cocky-eyed but itās because heās leaning.
TIA!!!

This is my first bebe and my first carrier Iāve tried! We have the Mabe as well but this one seemed more comfy for how small our guy is. Heās 3 weeks old, weighs 8.5 lbs.
But, I feel like his head is sticking out too much!? I have the waist band right under my bra line, on my ribs so heās kissable, but his head is still poking out. For now itās okay because weāre just using it for naps so I can make sure his head doesnāt wiggle too much until he falls asleep, but I want to be able to use it out and about eventually and have my hands free.
Thanks!

Hello, Iām a ftm and new to babywearing, Iāve watched so many videos on stretchy wraps but donāt understand what Iām doing wrong. Iām trying to start with fabric being spread from knee to knee (as much as I can but his head prevents me to do it better on the side thatās under if it makes sense) and he seems to be in the m shape in the beginning, but always ends up being slanted on my left side as you can see in the pictures. I have both boba and solly wraps and it happens with both. I tried to tie it harder on that side, I do pelvic tuck, tried switching which side is on top, and in the end his leg gets out and he turns sideways always on my left. What am I doing wrong? Can someone help, I feel so dumb šš he is 5 months and probably 18-19 lbs at this point. Iām 5ā2 if it matters

Hey all! First time baby wearing this baby, and had some questions.
I'm obviously sitting but when I stand it's like the carrier hangs on my neck rather than my shoulders. You can see its high up sitting down but it pretty much doesnt move further than that. I'm open to suggestions, I feel like I'm just wearing it wrong but I'm a pretty tiny person (5'3).

I have three different carriers I have tried with my baby. When he was much younger I tried the soft rap but it felt like it was squishing him and it made me really nervous that I wasnāt wearing it right. I watched videos, asked friends etc. and it just never felt comfortable. It might now that he is older. I have two structured carriers that he can last in for about 10 minutes before the screaming ensues and heās scraping his face back-and-forth across my chest, of course facing my body. The momcozy, and the Infantino. All gifts, I canāt afford these crazy expensive carriers. I wish. Anyway, Iāll attach a picture but when heās in this carrier itās like heās trying to push away from me and canāt relax down, then when he does his face is against my chest and he doesnāt like to turn it to either side. I have rather large boobs and Iām wondering if itās just super uncomfortable for him to be squished against my body like that. Iāve tried adjusting it every possible way. In the Infantino (grey with turquoise), it just feels like his head is totally unsupported and he wonāt rest it against my chest. Pretty much the same thing with the mom cozy (navy blue with constellations) not to mention itās the most god-awful thing to try to get on anyway. Out of the two I think I like the Infantino better and I think so does he. HELP

I am in the market for 2 carriers that can be worn in front or back and that are comfy for twins. Let me know how we look.

EDIT: waterfall style carrier*****
I am having such a hard time with this. When I first got this carrier I feel like it was going so well but now after messing with all of the straps during a bunch of wears, I feel like everything is just off. If I tighten the straps in the back I feel like he is pressed against me way too tight and not in the seat. If I loosen them I feel like hes not close enough to kiss. Idk if the side straps need to be so tight. I make the waistband super tight but im not sure if it needs to be higher? Or lower? The waistband also has an adjustable velcro piece on the inside and its all the way opened for the āMā shape instead of being cinched. I also feel like it doesnāt come up high enough to the nape of his neck in the last pic. My baby is 3 months and around 15lbs.
Please help meš

Just got this ring sling. I've watched video tutorials, but actually using it has been a little more challenging. Does this look right? I'm worried I don't have enough support in the middle and top, and maybe too tight on the bottom? The ring is also really close to her head - is it too far down my shoulder?

My 10 week old just hates being carried. I have tried a moby wrap, a baby bjorn carrier, a ergobaby omni 360 and a Najell easy.
He hates it from the moment I try to put his legs through and simply put has a full on meltdown. I tried going out to walk with him. On two separate occassions he actually calmed down and kinda napped but he never seems fully comfortable. Either that or he calms down for a bit then starts crying hysterically again.
We are travelling in 3 weeks and I would love it if either me or my partner can wear him through the airport.
Attached photos for a fit check using the Najell easy.
Am I doing something wrong? Thank you.

Iāve used all 3 with my now 1,5 year old, but we didnāt get started untill 3-4 months, and Iām finding it is quite different with a newborn.
I could use some feedback. Baby 2 weeks old, 3400g and 56cm. Baby tends to slant a bit to my left. Iām also not sure baby is quite high enough, but I struggle to get them higher up. Iād love to get some tips on how to improve that.
Iām using:
Oscha cairis halfbuckle
Oscha highland pleats ringsling
Oscha woven wrap in wool/cotton blend
Ps. I know pants with feet arenāt recomended, I did make sure to pull the fabric so it didnāt squish the little toes.

this is the first time Iāve successfully tied the wrap because I couldnāt get her to do m legs before today. Iām concerned about the slouching because I tried to put her head higher when I was tying it. Iāve tried two other baby wearing harnesses, and she would always slip down into an unsafe position.

I really want this to work. I would love to have a more hands-free, easy slip on option for him to be able to look around more since he is still a bit young to face front in a carrier.
However, it seems like itās uncomfortable under his bum and the back of his knees. It gets bunched up at the back of his knees and feels tight. Is this how itās supposed to feel? He keeps popping the seat and straightening his legs, so his seat isnāt as deep. Iām not sure if I am wearing this right or if he needs to be more on my hip or more on my center?

How is the fit? Anything I can improve on?
LO is 4 weeks, 10 lbs 8 oz, 21 inches
I also have a question, is she too little for the carrier? The manual says I can adjust the waistband buttons for a newborn but on Amazon it is marketed from 2 months.

Wasnāt able to get ābabyāās legs into the M shape and his head feels a bit too high, but how does it look otherwise? Also not sure we did the shoulder flip correctly! And, is it safe for a 2 year old to use a hammer while babywearing? Toddler did a nice job supporting ābabyāās head with his hand at times, but he also laid down in the floor (on top of ābabyā) to grab something from under the workbench.

Can I please get some insight into how to fix this carry? The carrier is an older one: Ergobaby 360 (originalānot Omni). Bubs is unhappy after 5-10mins and Iām uncomfortable. He keeps leaning to the right and his left shoulder pops up and peeks out over the top of the centre panel. I feel like too much of his chest is exposed above the centre panel so he looks like heās riding too high. His legs also look dangly even after me scooping and re-scooping his butt repeatedly to get a pelvic tilt. If itās relevant, heās 12 months old and just about 20lbs (little guy). Is he just not the right build for this carrier and I need to look into getting a different one? (This one was a free hand-me-down from a relative so thereās fortunately no sunk cost if this just isnāt the right carrier for us.) Is this just not a great carrier for front carrying? Or is there something fit related that I could improve upon that would fix this carry? Things just donāt feel right so I canāt help but think Iām doing something wrong.

Babies are just over 5 months. Baby in the back is sitting up fairly well. He likes kicking his feet so it looks like his leg is very extended in the pic haha.

Tried the carrier for the first time but had the feeling he was not very comfortable and took him out after 10 minutes. Also is 2 week too young still for being in the carrier/wrap? Any help very appreciated š
