US Sale I modded the banks car

I understand that it wasn’t the smartest decision, but I did it anyway, and would do it again.

But here is my question. I owe a good amount on a Supra. It has a fair amount of modifications. I don’t think it’s technically street legal.

What will happen when I go to the dealership to try and sell it?

What is my best course of action?

I have the money to pay it off. I could possibly put all the oem parts back on… if I can find them.. I am somewhat prepared to take a bath on this thing, I’m not hurting for the cash, I’m just moving and can’t take it with me.

My mechanic hopefully has it all still but buying a cheap ca compliant version be worth it? Would the dealership be able to tell right away? Could I sell it in a different state?

If the dealer sees the other mods, they are going to check the cat(s). Might smell it too during the test drive.

In any case, most dealers are going to ding you for the cost to put the (entire) car back to stock.

You might try selling it in another state where the stock cats are not required, but that will probably take time. Modded cars are often tougher to sell than stock.

I feel like it would be easier to just find the stock parts and put them back on, selling in another state sounds like more work
