Meta US Powersports salespeople — are you leading with payment / financing / f&i products on the showroom floor now, or still walking the customer to F&I for that conversation? Has moving it earlier helped your close rate or just blown up gross?

I am trying to convince our Sales Manager to move to more of a modern sales desking process (closer to most auto stores) and getting push back. Curious as to what other powersports stores have been experiencing?

I’m a proponent of using a protected pencil with my staff, but you have to train them on how to present it and as soon as the customer says to pull it and see numbers without, you do so.

At my current dealer, all deals are presented first with GAP and VSC added on the structure. Being used vehicles, VSC always makes sense if you have a good salesman. And it’s very rare for a customer to ask for remove any of it. Makes my job 100% easier
