Sales executive is just a fancy stores term for “bottom rung salesman.”

It’s an entry level job, as long as you aren’t mentally deranged you could probably get the job. As far as a 3 hour day, I certainly wouldn’t give a minute of labor without a guarantee of a job offer.

Also selling LR/Jag sounds awful, unless the pay plan is absolutely insane I’d probably rather work at McDonalds.

Well that’s made me feel a bit better and a bit rubbish 😭 appreciate the honesty tho if it helps the salary is 25k base and 43k targeted I’m also in the UK

So 58,000 USD is your targeted? That’s pretty awful compared to the earning potential in the US

I made an average of 97,000£ my last 3 years in the business in the US.

Maybe it’s just not as good a job as in the US, but probably it’s mostly because how low the brand volume is.

You’ll get a lot more opportunities to sell at a major brand ( VW, Ford, BMW, Kia, Audi )

To be fair though things in America are generally more expensive than the UK I’m pretty sure as far as I’m aware pay is generally better over there than it is here it’s bloody terrible here 🙄

Genuinely though thank you very much for your honesty, would you say this is worth it just to get my foot in the door endure the training and in a few years potentially move on to the brands you listed ?

Certainly. I would say everyone that doesn’t have a University degree that is competent should try their hand at it. There are not a lot of (no degree needed) jobs that have the same level of earning potential as this industry.

See I’m not sure what it’s like over there but in the UK there is a staggering amount of people with degrees to the point where it’s becoming useless so I made the judgement when I left college to not bother with uni so I don’t put myself 40k in debt and instead save money and get experience actually working full time and I don’t regret it for a second. I have scoliosis quite severe too so I need a job that doesn’t involve lots of heavy lifting which led me here. You didn’t need to know all that but I thought I’d put that out there

Thanks again for what you’ve said it’s greatly appreciated have a good day mate

Our countries have a similar higher education rate, but also more people in the US are university educated than live in the entire UK.

Thats mostly beside the point, I think it’s a good decision for you. If you get the job, make sure you buy some very good shoes, trust me it will make a big difference. There are plenty of posts here about quality shoes you can look into if you need to in the future.

Oh really haha what is the reasoning behind specifically the shoes?

You’ll be on your feet a lot more than you would think, and walking on pavement is hell in crap shoes.

I applied for it via their website as it was a role specifically for people from retail/ hospitality sectors etc to move into this field which is exactly what I was looking for given I’m working at Tesco now
