On braids
Do braids hurt?
Can they be washed as regularly as unbraided hair? When washed, is there a danger of them getting loosened or unbraided?
How long does one keep them in? Is it just a matter of preference or do they lose shape(?) as your hair grows longer?
OP context: naive and genuinely curious Asian from Asia with extremely straight hair

What are your thoughts on anti Black racism in the Asian community?

At the risk of sounding glib, I would say all racism is bad. But I'm afraid I can't speak much to knowing about anti-Black racism specifically since here in Hong Kong it's almost 99% Asian. I'm sorry to hear that's a thing and that this isn't much of a response.
What are your thoughts on braids?

There are actually thousands of Black residents living in Hong Kong. Anti Black racism in Hong Kong exists as a mixture of daily microaggressions and overt discrimination. While the city is highly cosmopolitan, Black residents and visitors regularly face stigma, including being called racial slurs, being avoided on public transport, and being discriminated against in securing employment or housing, stemming from deep-seated racist cultural stereotypes held against them.
Now you know. And you can expand your knowledge of this issue on your own.

They don’t usually hurt. If the braider braids too tight that can be an issue.
No you generally don’t wash braids. But there are some methods to do so if someone really wants to.
You can keep them in as long as you want. There’s no set standard time. There are too many variables. Usually you take them out when they start looking old and loose.

Braids hurt a lot and arr very tight ans uncomfortable and you can't scratch your head so you have to pat it instead
I hate braids and I don't even think they look good fashion wise
Infact I'd argue for men they haven't been in style since like the late 90s and early 2000s back before boondocks when lil romeo was a thing and Nelly was at the peak of his career
Give me two pair
I need two pair

Weird take.
Braids are very popular with young men right now actually.
Also braids don’t have to hurt. You can just tell the braider not to do it tight. You can definitely scratch your head with them lol. Never seen a black person so anti-braids…kinda sad.

Yeah, I don't wear them either, for this reason. I will almost always choose comfort over style.
