That’s no firefly. AZ firefly’s are really rare. I’ve only seen fireflys in person in the Midwest.

I’ve always been curious about the Hot Springs there, there’s two of them right, essence of tranquility, and kachina? Any insights?

I like kachina in the winter time because of the indoor private rooms, and essence in the summer or spring/summer time to enjoy the semi outdoor nature feel. Also, kachina has fileted water from one of the onsite springs for you to drink...its very refreshing.

i never see any cute ones though. My yard looked like someone walked in it with cleats one year, it was full of antlions and the dragon flies we ended up with were like military grade dragonflies. none of this airy-fairy bottle blue and emerald green lacey wings things. These were like double winged, im sure they had weaponry attached, absolute units
no one would ever make a pair of earrings about one of them though

Our neighborhood was invaded by thousands of dragonflies in 2024 (Gilbert) and we haven’t had any mosquitoes since then. There aren’t nearly as many dragonflies now but still no mosquitoes. Fingers crossed that the dragonflies stay around.

I think it’s a damselfly.
