She was most likely calling the other school board members nazis, not demontrating her love for Hitler.

The Republicans have been infiltrating public schools for a long time. They want private schools that teach dinosaurs aren't real, the earth is only 6k years old, etc. they hate facts and science. They hate teachers that teach kids equality. They only want christo fascism.

I’m noticing a trend of MAGA intentionally doing something to get attention, getting repercussions for it, and then trying to milk it for notoriety/sympathy money from their fake oppression victim narrative. I mean dear leader is king grifter so I’m not surprised.

It wasn't a great idea to respond with that gesture, but it seems to be directed towards the Chairs firm stance towards parental participation?

Everyone is just comfortable being the worst side of themselves openly now its sad. The social contract has been broken by this administration idk if we can ever even get it back…

Calling for her censure isn’t gonna cut it. She needs to be ejected not just from the board but from public life. No job should hire her because the first thing they find out about her is she’s like this.

Context is everything. In this case understanding the context turns things from “horrific” to “Ok, I get it, but don’t do that shit again…”

In a statement on Thursday morning, fellow Deer Valley board member Stephanie Simacek, who was sitting right next to Fisher at the time of the salute, called for the “immediate censure” of Fisher over what Simacek said was antisemitic behavior.
Oh for Chrissakes, it was an infantile tantrum. A wiser snark response might’ve been to snap off a traditional naval salute and an “Aye-aye, Cap’n Bligh,” and of course a cold silence would’ve been the best response, but I don’t imagine this dingbat cosplays in SS toggery and goose-steps back and forth in front of the three-way mirror when she’s at home.

Yeah, it was obviously her calling the president or whoever Hitler or a dictator or whatever, but it’s pretty damn stupid to do the actual salute especially in a school board meeting.
People are stupid if they think she was “expressing her views” or they just didn’t read the article because they don’t know how to read.

Yeah the amount of terminally online people huffing and puffing here about this is alarming. People form whole ass opinions based on a headline, which is why it’s increasingly so easy to influence any narrative you want through the internet.

Her tantrums have no place in the workplace and this is one of many. She should be removed for her unprofessional behavior.

I agree it's unprofessional and extremely childish. I do not agree that she was indicating Nazi or "anti-semitic" sentiment.

I’m sure this will go well for her.

She's probably going to get invited to the White House

I think she exceeds the weight limit for the president to want to have anything to do with her. That seems to be the only criteria for him.

If it’s ok to do at the presidential inauguration then it should be ok to do it at a school board meeting.

There’s more to this story. Of course the New Times is going to run it this way. Be careful people. There are always two sides to the story.

What's the other side of the story? Are you just here to distract little one?

The other side here is that she was doing what she did in mock-mimicry of how he was running the committee, and she felt he didn't allow her procedure he should have, ergo what she did as a mirror to him.

If you watch the video, it’s pretty obvious she was calling the other members Nazis for shutting her down. Childish, sure, but they’re desperately trying to make it something that it so clearly isn’t at all. It’s annoying and disingenuous.

Okay so some pretty important context is missing, not that the context makes what she did okay but may change the severity of it.
This wasn’t someone just being like “oh man I love Hitler and his ideals.” The chair of the board was calling for some vote she was against (not sure what was) but she disliked it enough that she likened him to Hitler and was doing that to call him Hitler.
Absolutely not okay, but it’s the difference between the harsh sentiment many people are giving here and a simple case of her simply needing to be fired from the district.
